A lot of humble pie would have to be eaten on both sides though.
Not really - we offered him a deal and he wanted more money. If there's any humble pie he'll be eating alone as I can't see Randy now upping that contract offer.
Depends if you think that would have been the only offer if GH had stayed- it seems we gave him a take it or leave it offer probably based on the fact they'd decided to jettision the manager and they figured it was pointless signing a player a new guy may not want. probably common sense at the time when they had Martinez in their sights. then Martinez went pearshaped and we went after AM who was talking to NRC
I think we only need a winger and maybe another option as an attacking midfielder who could play wide. N'Zogbia and Kranjcar.
STOP SUGGESTING KRANJCAR, HE IS FUCKING SHIT!
Thank you.
I agree McLeish may rate and want the player - he's that type of hard working midfield terrier he had at the Scum, but I don't see how that translates to the wages issue. At best he'll endorse the contract we had previously offered, but not increase the size of it.
What's that Croatian's name that plays for Spurs, I think he's an attacking midfielder but can also play wide?

We should go for him, he's ace!

As ever, and as stated a million times on here before, I agree Maz - and I could introduce you to god knows how many Pompey fans who would say the same. Spurs fans can't comment of course because he has virtually never played for them. Ponder on why...
I still wouldn't be surprised if NRC came back. He had definately agreed to join blose before they went down. Could have blown it now with those comments he made though.
who said he agreed to join blues?
The definition of a highlights player, by all accounts.

Even if he really wanted him? From memory NRC wasn't one of the really high earners and he could justifyiably point to the likes of Ireland and Beye and say he deserved a rise at least.

surprised if he turned down villa to go to blues , i always thought he had aspirations of better things.

Been in Amsterdam since MOnday.
Any updates on any front?
AM says 1 more player in. Possibility of loans and duffers as well. N'zogbia still on hold due to general tightarseness
