People seem to be leaving out Makoun a lot here, I think he will be an excellent player for us.

I agree but he needs bulking up to be a midfielder in the Prem - far too lightweight IMO

I don't see how anyone can make a full judgement on Makoun. Came in at a difficult time, was accustomed to playing a very different style of game that the PL. He was clearly off the pace initially, but what was evident to me at least is that he is a good football player. Technically sound, he needs to get used to the players, and the style of play, something I think he'll benefit greatly from during pre-season. We should be encouraging Villa to get more players like this.

I like Makoun, passes the ball excellently, doesn't give it away too much. When we played at Old Trafford, he must have put in about 700 passes. It's easy to sneer at players who play it short, but they're essential, they keep the ball moving.

Of course not attention seeking. A friend said it to me but I cannot find it online so was wondering if anyone else had heard anything similar.

I also think Makoun will be a good player for us this season, looking forward to seeing him settled and more involved with us.

With respect, why not say that then, instead of reporting it as fact?   FWIW, if Spurs fancied swapping him with a couple of players, I'd take the gamble.

Anyone heard the Messi to Villa rumour? I can't find a link online but I just thought of it in my head so decided to post it here.

I'm pretty sure the questions mark means that he didn't know if it were true or not.
