MON was terrible at identifying which were our good youth players. DOL was a poor manager but he seemed to be better at knowing who our good players were.

Good luck to him. Didn't want him back at Villa Park though.

Agreed.

Decent move for him. He's a good player just not what we need.

All the best to him. Lets hope he keeps his Brummie twang.

And QPR taken over by Fernandez and have bid £4m for Scott Parker. Explains why QPR didn't spend much up to date. I would expect the new owners to splash out now and protect their investment.

I'd be surprised if Parker went there.

Would we be more surprised if he came to us?

Equally, but for different reasons.

If we all close our eyes really tight and think really hard perhaps we can make him appear at Bodymoor Heath holding up a Villa no 8 shirt doing a photo shoot!

A good point raised on Talkshite tonight about how they expect a load of loan signings in the last few days of the window because teams cant afford salaries for the best players...which is true of ourselves, Spurs and Arsenal. The point being that if you simply reduce the number of players in the squad that are on £60k/week, then teams may be able to afford a couple of star players on £100k/week if the squad was balanced with more youth players on £20k/week. May be this is the start of this strategy by the club now and will further improve with the likes of Heskey and Beye leaving next summer.

Hmm, "not for any price" wasn't it?  'Even' Spurs can't hold onto their best players then.  I'm torn between laughing and paying attention to the sound of another nail being bashed into the coffin of competition.

If the big sulk goes to Spurzzzzzzz and Modric leaves i think there will be the biggest unrest in the camp you will ever see - closely followed by VDV, Bale and co looking for a way out as quickly as poss

For all the guff and semi orgasms in the London press about Spurs they really are no better than us at any given time - they just get hyped up as the media love Redknob
