You are right wiki, sidwell looked a class player against us for fulham , I doubt he will keep up that level of performance though on a regular basis- very hit and miss player and a lot more miss than hit.

Sidwell was crap. Let's not have any revisionism here. He had his chances and was anonymous in almost 100% of games he played for Aston Villa. One decent performance for Fulham doesn't make him am important loss for us.

He was pretty good for a while in a 5 man midfield especially against Arsenal.

Thereafter he was mostly wank however.

I would not argue, he was utter gash for us.

BUT, he's been very good for Fulham in that CM role, like a new player & a snip at 250k

I watched him a couple of times for Fulham, he hasn't been good at all, he has just been an average midfielder, certainly not in the same class as Makoun, so don't be fooled into thinking he is a loss to Villa.

Shrek, he played very well at Villa Park, got an assist, then had a good game against Chelsea last week

It's Not Unusual for players to play well against their old clubs.  I bet if he plays Reading tomorrow, he will score an 40 yards screamer.

Has he? You must have been watching different games than me if you think he has been 'very good' Willshire was very good against Barcelona, is that the sort of 'very good' you mean?

I would say 'slightly better than he ever was at Villa' but that just means very average instead of downright crap...

Sidwell had a good game against us but I'm delighted he's gone - a huge letdown as a player and not good enough to be in our squad let alone team.

2 half decent performances don't make up for 3 years of being below average at best.

And those two games were against two of his old teams,so he wouldve had a point to prove,im sure he'll be back to his below par best soon.

Glad we got rid of the useless sod.

I didn't even think he did that much against us.

I must have been conditioned to seeing him physically "on" the pitch but making as much difference to the flow of the game as the flow of traffic on the Expressway.
