More people reporting Makoun having a medical in greece now. Also Hargreaves is being reported as having had a solid offer from West Brom and being very confident of his fitness. If we want him, I am guessing we will have to move fast. If Makoun does go, we are 2 light in the holding midfield role including Hogg, who has to be included in the thinking as he played games last season when we had Reo Coker, Young and Downing still, so if anything he was higher up the pecking order. I would prefer 2 all round midfielders than a right back given Lichaz, Herd and Cuellar can play there.

I still think there is a chance that Adam Johnson Or Daniel Sturridge could be made available for the season on loan. Either of those would fit into our current squad nicely.

Ahead of Drogba, Anelka, Lakaku, Torres? His choice will be bench or first team action.
