Anyway, my list goes something like this:

In: Westwood, Onuoha, Samba, Izaguirre, Forfana, Larsson, N'Zogbia

Friedel
Onuoha - Samba - Collins - Izaguirre
Larsson - Makoun - Delph - Downing
N'Zogbia
Bent

Westwood - Clark - Luke - Petrov - Forfana - Albrighton - Gabby

I think Larsson would give us the versatility and work rate of Milner, and his set pieces can be valuable over the season. N'Zogbia can add an extra few goals from open play more than Ashley did (a full season of Bent should be more productive, especially on penalty duty). And the midfield are all very capable in a variety of positions and playing the ball into feet.

Daniel Sturridge on SSN saying he will look to move in the summer if it's not looking like he'll get 1st team football next season! Come back home Daniel...!!

Sturridge and Bent up front would be much better than Gabby and Bent!
also, we need to bring back Der hammer!

I rate Gabby, but he and Bent don't make a good combo, IMO.

When we had him I always thought of Tommy the Hitz as a decent player with a great shot.  And he still is, but we need better than 'decent' now, so he wouldn't improve us at all and I'd rather give a chance to Delph or Bannan.

I don't rate Defoe in the slightest. Would honestly prefer Gabby.

If Daniel Sturridge wants a move we should be the ones offering it him.

Think i would rather have Sturridge than both of them.

Would'nt complain in getting DJ Campbell cheaply either.

Dudley Campbell started off at Villa and was released from the Youth set up.

Strikes me as a bit of a one season wonder to be honest - see also Marcus Stewart and Dave Kitson.

Did I just read that right - Rick saying that the scoring record of Cameron Jerome and Gabby are similar?

I think Hitz is more than decent now.  When he got back into that West Ham side after injury, they vastly improved.  Its a shame the rest of the players didnt show the commitment that him and parker showed otherwise they would have stayed up.

If Sturridge is available, we need to already be working this deal out.

In that case how did a German international with Premier League experience end up at West Ham?

Sturridge and N'Zogbia are both used to, and seemingly adept at, playing as wide strikers in a 4-3-3.

To be fair, West Ham should not have gone down with the players they had.  It was poor management from Grant.  I believe had Hitz been fit from the start of the season and with a different manager, West Ham would not have been relegated.  They would have been top half.

Who we need to buy depends on who we manage to get as manager.  Players, who ever they are or however good they are, need to play for a manager that sees them fitting into his vision of the team.

You also think that Gabby and Cameron Jerome are similar players in ability and scoring record. So forgive me if I think your opinion on players (and I know it's your opinion) is a load of bollocks.

Why dont you bring up both gabby and jeromes stats and then we can compare.  how long has gabby been in the first team fold and what has he done in that time?  Dont get me wrong, I would still like him to do well but i just do not see it happening .  He has a lot of potential but hardly delivers.  its about time we give someone else i.e. Fonz, a chance and see if he can make an impact.

Gabby has 48 in 181, Jerome has 37 in 179.
