dont believe everything you read in the press mr sandman.

I'm not. It's just that some members of this forum tend to do so. The fact that some media sources are reporting that there is a possibility of it happening (whereas others argue to the contrary) indicates that it is not quite as clear cut as you make out. For the record, I don't think that we will be signing Johnson as good as he is and as much as he would improve our side (due to the harsh financial regime in place) but I do feel that City might be tempted to loan him out. They are after a new winger and have to accomodate the likes of Aguero, Balotelli, Silva, Dzeko, and probably someone else I've forgotten in their front three or four as well as a new player. He didn't play that many games last season and with a few more options standing in his way he will be desperate to get a move for his England spot.

remember though that with champions league too they will need a strong squad of 25 and i see johnson as part of their main 18- mancini was quite clear when he said no chance of him going on loan-he will only loan swp if he gets another winger.

interesting to see where bellamy goes.

Nottingham Forest agree an undisclosed fee with ADO Den Haag for 24-year-old winger Wesley Verhoek, reports the club's official website.

ETA of first "can't compete with Forest" statements - 30 mins

It's like Dolly O'Dreary never left.

Adam Johnson is in the England squad.

I guess Verhoek isn't that well known outside Holland - McClaren probably knows a lot about him from his Twente days/daysch.

Wonder what Numan thinks of Verhoek?

Has Artur Numan actually joined us?

Talking of loans (from the BBC):

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker at England press conference: "To play for England you need to be playing regularly so another loan is possible. I want to play at Premier League level. I went to Villa and I did ok but there is still more to come from me."

They are mugs if he is not their first choice ahead of Hutton and Corluka.

If the lad is available we should have him back.

I would'nt hesitate to get Walker in, purely as a winger though, he's as much a right back as what I am.

I've only seen him on highlights shows, looks impressive though and extremely rapid, not quite what Arsenal need though.

I still think we should sign up Tommy Hitz on a free - surely better than Petrov and a more potent goal threat with that hammer left foot? He's a far better player now.
