Verhoek sounds promising, but why has he not had many Chances with the dutch national team at his age? Wouldn't mind taking a punt like that if downing stays, but would prefer n'zogbia.

i'd really love to get nathan dyer from swansea, he never stops working from when i've seen him and just runs straight at defenders, fast as f**k and knows a pass.watch him go this season!

After his comments on Birmingham etc, Ireland should be moved on. I hope after an hour in his company, Eck will get shut.
His comments on Birmingham? I'm unaware.
"For a start, Birmingham is a crap city and I wasn’t going to make the effort, especially as I wasn’t playing. Might as well be in Manchester if I had to stay home on match days – though I don’t bear Houllier any grudges; it wasn’t him who chose me after all.”

Those.

I'm hoping we can arrange a Heskey/DJ Campbell swap with Blackpool.  He'd be a useful player, a different style from Bent.  More like a decent Harewood.  If Harry is going to keep walker we might as well have a sniff around Hutton, he'd probably be less than £4mill and is tidy at the very least.  I'd really like Adam, for his set pieces and distribution as long as he doesn't have to get too near our own 18 yard box.

And if anyone else suggests we sign Carrick I'm gonna send the lads around to rearrange your furniture.

Think Mcleish should be arranging to see players before we officially start back and get to see how committed they are/not cause we need some serious transfer activity and pre season bonding. Obviously it was to late with Ashley, but players sitting at home watching transfer market activity from other clubs when they have there own "issues" to look at must be uninspired to want to resolve problems ? .........

Sell Downing and get N'Zogbia and Benayoun to replace him and Ashley.

Good call that JJ. If Downing does go to 'The Mighty Reds YNWA', I would say give us 18 and drop your interest in Adam or there is no deal.

Again Adam's name is mentioned. I just don't see it myself and besides, he seems like the kind of player who would struggle to make an impression in a bigger pond like villa. I just get the wrong vibes from him.

What we will do is sell Downing to Liverpool ( for less than Henderson) who will then say what a great club we are to deal with. Randy will then move on to sign Adams from Blackpool after getting assurances from King Kenny that they will drop their interest in him.

Then Adams will sign for Liverpool anyway.

While us lot on the internet will bang our heads in frustration on our keyboards.

I guess we will see next season, but Liverpool would have a midfield of Downing, Gerard, Adam, Henderson with Suarez and Carroll up top. Creative, got width, and strikers who will score. Bent will be very envious.

I would take 12 million, Joe Cole and Maxi Rodrigues though.

I've been looking at a few youtube video's of this dutch chap Verhoek we've been linked with and he looks decent to be honest, seems to set up a lot of goals for Den Haag. Might be one worth looking at.

The papers also said in January we did'nt have any money and look what happened in that window. We'll bring players in because we have to, it's as simple as that really.

No doubt Clampy.

It's just the probable quality of the new players that worries me.
