If we let Neymar keep his Mohawk do you think he will shun Real and Chelsea and sign for us?

gregnash - how on earth is Etherington shite?? He is a class or two above Stoke. The only reason they have him is that they took the gamble on his gambling. F*ck me there are some delusional posters on here. We might not have had a better left winger since Morley.

Because of course Gregnash, we are competing with those clubs for players. Grow up

your the one claiming him to be the best winger since Morley. Fine if you rate him but come on.

He is a very very good player. Much dimished because he plays for Stoke. I may have overdone the 'best since Morley' comment but you way way overdo the shite comment.

Why tell him to grow up? it's an overused phrase on this site when a difference of opinion occurs.

I apologise. It was in reaction to the completely over the top noton that we are competing with 'ManU/Citeh/chelsea/Arsenal/Barcelona/Madrid.'. We aren't competing with them (unless you guys know something I don't) so my notion that Etherington was a good purchase for us, when met with this argument (ie that none of the top 5 teams in world football (arguably) would want him) , is shite. Would you prefer I say that?

and I would add I don't generally disagree with gregnash so have no issues with him particularly

only mentioned those clubs because they would be the sort bidding for someone like Morley in today's market which i don't think etherington is. Anyway no need to apologise as no offence taken...

Cool mate, sorry anyway. Sometimes you type things in haste that you repent at leisure.

I wouldn't be unhappy to see Etherington or Given at VP to be honest. If Given can stay fit then he's a top quality keeper and I think there's plenty more to come from Etherington

The thing is we were at least brushing shoulders with the top 4-6 a few years back. I wouldn't be surprised to see Etherington turn us down if we did actually bid for him? With regards the money from the Ashley Young sale, I'm sure there were direct quotes from AM saying that he wouldn't receive all the cash from the transfer??

Etherington is a good player, but surely too old and would cost a fortune?

I took the mcleish comments to mean that villa wouldn't get all the tHe young money because of watford's cut. But it may be that even net of that we won't get it all.

Etherington is a good player but he's not international class (nor is Jarvis). N'zogbia is, in my view.
