I would rather Albrighton on the right than Maxi.  We do need another wide man on top of N'Zogbia though if Downing goes and I don't really know who.  My knowledge doesn't extend much beyond the domestic leagues, so maybe Rosicky or Adam Johnson for me.

What makes you think mcleish will play 2 out and out wide men?

He may play a more narrow midfield and one wide man with full backs pushing on. When we won the league with Morley out wide and 3 midfielders, Sid and den and des we still played some exciting football.

I'd expect to see that away, but think/hope he'll be a bit more adventurous at home.

Maxi Rodriguez for the right wing anyone?
Not sure, best to ask Jackthevillain.

Haha goodone, just read that thread.
Just a suggestion if Downing does hand in a transfer request Maxi + £15m wouldnt be such a bad deal for me. From what Ive seen he scores a fair few goals and works hard for the team. Ive also seen a few Wigan fans stating Nzogbia does work hard for the team which might suprise a few people. He did start of as a leftback after all.

Because of what McLeish was quoted as saying at the fans forum. I cant see 2 forwards, wingers and attacking fullbacks working in the same system. Besides Maxi isnt an out and out winger like Albrighton. Personally I'd be very happy with Nzogbia, Downing and Albrighton for the wide postions this season.

I think we need 3 widemen on our books, even if we only play 1, just like we will need 3/4 strikers, even if we are only playing 1 up top, and we'll need 3 keepers for 1 spot too.

I think it'll be two wingers regardless, but at home a 4-4-2 and away a 4-5-1.

All these comments about how N'Zogbia is almost as good as Ash reminds me of how everyone said the same about Ireland and Milner...........

I think downing will go and nzogbia would be a great signing, would have liked larsson on a free as his set piece delivery was excellent last season.

Man Shitty closing in on Nasri may free up a certain Yorkshire man.
