Michael Appleton is their new manager.

Don't get why they've gone for him. Maybe Blackpool was too 'normal' for him, maybe he likes a mad house, like Portsmouth and Blackburn.

Blackpool strongly linked with bradfords phil parkinson.
This reminds me a bit of the 2011 Jan window where it looked like we weren't going to spend anything then we go crazy near the end. Don't think it will be quite the same, but I think we will have done some serious business by the end of the window.
Michael Bradley, Robert Pires and Jean II Makoun. Yikes.
I seriously think we have to shift some wages first. Could be something in the Dunne QPR link - get him fit enough to pass a medical, and then sign someone. Could be a long month......
yeah and he also says too many young players isn't the problem. WTf? Clueless.
On the subject of incoming players, the manager stated that after spending £23 million last January, the club have decided not to spend now.
He said: “That’s the decision I’ve made. The football club has been in relegation battles for the last few years. This isn’t just new on them because they’ve been in it for a few years. It’s something we are trying to rectify in a different way and we will still go that way.”
Clearly the idea of spending to get away from the drop zone is out of the question for the former Norwich City manager who also spoke about the current crop of players, adding: “We fight and we keep going. I’m not going to beat them with a rod. You have to pick them up.”
Ivan Gaskell @IvanGaskell1
#avfc PL:(on poss transfers)"yes, we are trying to do some things. But its very difficult,we don't have money to spend."
sell the painting in the reception, statue for scrap metal or maybe turn the hotel into a strip club?
Sell Hercules and Bella to Dudley Zoo.
Might make more if they made a porn film....

I assume they meant spending £23m in the summer because we didn't spend £23m last January did we?
Are we looking at loan deals then or will wages scupper those as well?
