No to Huddlestone for me, too big a risk with his fitness record.  A big part of our problem this year has been kids playing whilst experienced plays lie on a treatment table, adding [players with questionable fitness does nothing to help with that.

I have no idea who we should go for though, but then I don't have a european scouting network I can call on to find them.

Seems Spurs have captured the midfieder they were after.  Huddlestone on loan until the end of the season would be a step in the right direction for me.

Would be a good addition as long as he  stays fit.

Ah, the ols Michael owen argument.

Huddlestone can pass, tackle and score goals, a big strong player , only worry is his fitness - we dont want another jenas situation - but worth the risk i suppose in our situation.

What I'm getting as is that if a player has the sort of injury record where you have to add the phrase 'as long as he stays fit', then they rarely do.

I agree with his attributes as a footballer, but I think we'd come to regret it if we went for him.

Funny how people are turning down International players from top 4 clubs, he'd struggle to get into our top quality midfield that's for sure.

Neville is in the final year of his contract so would be cheap enough, as clampy says though would he leave everton when chasing a top 4 slot- worth a try.

I watched Huddlestone against Leeds yesterday and must admit, while I advocated him as an addition, he did look ropey. I think that's mainly due to a lack of football, maybe he'd improve with regular games. He'd be a gamble but that's the market we're shopping in.

To further back up my thoughts on huddlestone, he's made 179 appearances in 7 1/2 seasons at tottenham, that's well under half the games they've played.  There is no way I'd back signing him given that record.  We may as well go for Hargreaves if we want a player with all the right attirbutes but who's made of glass.

At his age it's mainly about length of contract.  If he's got 6 months at Everton or a guaranteed 18 months here, there's a couple of million quid in the difference to that.

Yes i think hes approaching 36 and wants to play on , an 18 month deal from us may be more than everton offer him .

But he may bank on them offering another year so they have some champions league experience if they make it?

I wouldn't walk away from that chance unless there was no chance it may happen.

I'm more concerned about how he'd walk straight into our top quality treatment room at Bodymoor!

I'd sign Neville in a heartbeat right now.

How times have changed.

I would be happy with Livermore and Stephens at the moment in the centre of midfield coming in, such is our dirth of quality in there.

Somewhat encouraging. Now... don't tell me, show me?

Indeed, actions now need to follow. However that has made it crsytal clear that money is available. It's up to Lambert to use it now.

Finally ... Tell that to lambshank!

Lets hope he spends it on the right players.
Hang on your the one saying PL doesn't want to spend any money. How many ways do want it.You get that excited when you hear anything you don't even know what you are saying.

I see Hitz is available on a free again after his spell at Everton. Worth a shout?
