Don't see 'onest 'enry going for Bent after what happened when he had him at Spurs. God knows where he will go.

Don't see McLeish going for Bannan at all either.

He's already said he likes bent and things are fine between them , Newcastle will be looking for a striker as well and maybe west ham- would bent pass a medical though?

"I like Darren. I've got no problems with Darren Bent," Redknapp said. "I just made a comment that maybe I shouldn't, when I said I think my missus would have scored when he missed a header that day. I can laugh at myself, I don't mind.

"It was obviously difficult, he didn't like it and that was sort of it really, and within no time he decided that he didn't want to stay. But I think he's a good player. I'd like to have Darren Bent available, believe you me. He can score goals. I've got no problem with Darren as a boy or as a player. I think he's a good player."

There is no suggestion that Bent will submit a transfer request at Villa but, by the same token, it is easy to imagine he would relish the chance to start playing football again. With that in mind, he is unlikely to rule QPR out because of what happened with Redknapp in the past.

Villa will have to take a big hit on their investment, with £10m likely to be the maximum they could hope to recoup for a player who turns 29 in February and whose manager has made it so clear that he has no future at the club.

I think it all depends on what other funds are available.  If there's loads of money then you're correct, but if money is tight we need to sell any investment which is not providing value for money on the pitch.

I'd offer Lampard a 2 and a half year deal with a coaching job. He can only say no. (yes i have been drinking)
If Lampard were to move, I would imagine uncle Harry at QPR would be the only move he would consider.

Yes I see him going for players he knows well and can rely on - lampard, cole, bent, Parker , Dawson , keane etc

No way he'd let Bannan go, seeing as he starts every game in an already threadbare squad.
Unless of course he's already got someone amazing lined up (we can hope!)

The one at the top of my shopping list would be Dawson at Spurs, he's what we need and seemingly available.

Are they tatting in the Clough statue to pay for him?

Can't see them paying what we'd want.

I think the first player to be signed will be someone we have never heard of......or possibly Robbie Keane who our manager (and the fans)seems to like. If its the former it will be from one of the African countries. Hopefully a well muscled midfielder with a name you cant pronounce.

Or he may surprise us with a German or two.

One of which may be Michael Ballack if he can persuede him to come out of retirement.

My thoughts entirely.

Benteke looks as though he is going through a difficult spell which is understandable.  The biggest concern would be if he gets injured.  We need to keep Bent.  We also need to see if they can play together, it may be the answer for this season.

I'd even pop round and cut big ecks lawn for him for the whole summer in thanks.

Where was the figure of £7m reported?

I think Benteke has realised hes having to run the forward line by himself and to have that responsibility at 21 is proving a little too much.

Its quite imperitive we keep Darren Bent for the second half of the season to give the kid a chance
