Here you go John

http://m.espn.go.com/soccer/story?storyId=1148435

Thanks!

However, that is him talking up his young signings and not dismissing older heads as useless.

If he was under wages pressure so had to go for these players, he's hardly likely to ruin their confidence by saying "Well, as we can't afford top wages I've had to go wioth kids!"
He clearly believed his own hype though? Why leave Norwich if you've been put under such contraints.

" Every football decision is mine.I need to be COMFORTABLE IN MYSELF,and I'm comfortable with what I'm trying to do"

Sorry for shouting, don't know how to highlight

Possibly, but then he also had a host of established internationals already here to work with, who have either been injured, disinterested or just plain crap.

And that's not to mention the payrise he probably got himself to come here!

One player I'd love us to try and sign is Jack Rodwell. He might even be useful in the back three, as he looks a genuine footballer who could play anywhere you put him.

He'd surely love to play a few games for us rather than sit on City's bench?

Good call.

Someone on VT claiming Abdoulaye Ba is having a medical tomorrow.

not sure on this ITK's credentials but Ba is the 6'6" Porto centre back we have long been linked with.

West Ham tried to sign him in the summer but couldn't get the necessary work visa.

There other centre half, Rolando, is in Italy signing on loan for Napoli until the end of the season with an option to buy.

I'm pro-Aston Villa.

I think he's had a much harder job here than some give him credit for, due to a number of factors, and was doing OK in my book until Chelsea away.  That destroyed a young team's confidence and we haven't recovered from it yet.

That's not to absolve him from any blame, but trying to view it slightly more balanced than the "He's a mumbling Scottish fuckwit" version of events.

ITK on the darkside reckons we're unlikely to pay anyone coming in over £20k. Sounds about right considering the lack of activity. It seems we really are shopping in the bargain basement. I bet there are a fair chunk of the championship that are prepared to pay more than that, it's no wonder we look like we're headed there.

By the way, if you want to read minute by minute reports on what Beckham had for breakfast or the smell of Balotelli's latest fart I highly recommend BBC's transfer thread.

It's truly riveting stuff.

I think that will change if we stay up, but forking out massive wages now with the real threat of going down would be silly. 35k ish is reasonable though.

Which is why the £10m or so you think he has to spend is secondary to our real problem - wages!
