We have to learn from our mistakes of the past two years.

If you want a player badly enough, go and get him. If another team are sniffing around you have to present something to hook them.

If it came down to a choice of having one or two additional big earners on the books or guaranteeing we will be playing our trade at the likes of Millwall next season I know which one I would choose.

Diame is ideal for us, big strong, creative, good tackler, ideal really.

I like the look of the Chester lad at Hull too, could be gettable on decent wages.

Tom Ince would be a great signing for anyone. Fee high but wages not so.

None of it matters if the centre of midfield is still as weak as it is now though.

Saw redknapp waxing lyrical about diame , also seems keen on crouch now as well- he will be like a cat on a hot tin roof on thursday.
My ironyometre just exploded.

Crouch to QPR, Graham to Sunderland, Jones to Swansea, Bent to Stoke for big money on deadline day, with maybe a couple coming in exchange?

Darren Bent to anybody would be a complete pisstake

I'd rather get a new manager in who can play to his strengths

If he started every week yes, but if the chairman is sticking with Lambert, then selling Bent to fund say 3 additions then it could change us as a side completely.

Someone told me he was up here at the KC stadium in Hull yesterday.

I wonder if Steve Bruce makes a nice cuppa?

Do his opinions merit a patronising, if not disparaging response as to what type of place he works.  You might disagree with what he says, but to then equate that to his job is in poor taste in my view.

Have a day off Captain sensible. We're only having the craic.

If I remember rightly Captain Sensible was oxymoronic in the sense that he was anything other than sensible in appearance :-)

Mr Logic it is then.

Big Sam questioned about Diame said he can't guarantee he will still be at Upton Park on Feb 1st. SSN saying us and Arsenal interested.
I hate to put a dampner on things but if Sissokos wage demands were considered too much I can't see us stumping up for Diame

Dont write QPR out of the equation, have it on good source they were interested early in transfer window, but not sure if they have sorted out centre mid now. Apparently willing to pay release fee and double his wages

Saw redknapp waxing lyrical about diame , also seems keen on crouch now as well- he will be like a cat on a hot tin roof on thursday.

Didnt Crouch start off at QPR? As for Diame, my director has conntections high up at West Ham and was adamant at start of window that QPR had offered massive wages for him. Wonder if he is hanging on to see if anyone else comes in for him, must be really keen on going to Arry not

Yeah that's my thinking. If were sticking with PL sell bent spend the cash where we need it.

So, does 2 + 2 = Bent being the latest footballer to have a dabble with Potato Head's daughter?

The fact is our midfield is so shit we need to play 3 CM's and because they can't link anything together past halfway it's pretty much guaranteed we need to play Benteke up top to keep hold of the ball, Weimann on the right to work hard and run the channels and Gabby / N'Zog on the left to run around and deliver crosses (occassionally).

There really is no place for Bent with a midfield as bad as ours. However, if we sign somebody like Diame, I reckon that we could actually survive with 2 CM in midfield, have N'Zog / Weimann / Holman / Gabby on the flanks and throw Bent and Benteke up top. The only thing that is holding us back at the moment is that Bannan is a worthless little shit and Westwood can't link play up top.

A central midfield of Diame and KEA with Bent playing would be vastly superior to Bannan, Delph and Westwood shitting the place up.

'Little shit'? As someone over the page said, at least he's trying his hardest while Ireland leans back, puts his feet up and picks up his wages. Don't rate him as a footballer? That's fine. Call him a 'little shit'? Very strange.

Also, our midfield is so shit we need to play three? Yeah, like Barca's is so shit they need to play three. Three in midfield isn't a weakness, it's a tactic.

Ah... I'm thinking, actually, we won't get anyone now. There's not a sniff to be had, we play tonight, the window closes late on Thursday. Can't see it happening.
