Fair enough clamps, personally i dont think either bannan or ireland  are good enough to be in our team .
Would be happy to see both leave but cant imagine anyone taking ireland with the contract hes on - i hope maybe mcleish might want bannan , were links earlier but seems to have gone quiet.

Reading offered £7m for tom ince and mcdermott hopeful of doing the deal .
Big sam says he thinks diame will go - both decent players.

You can glue your eyes open and stay on this thread until Thursday and you will not miss anything. No signings coming to Villa.
Should i be wrong i expect everybody to take the piss ! I hope you take the piss btw.

I think it will be a deadline day scramble with three in and one out.
And the one out eastie ?

No idea but hopefully bannan!
bannan gets some undeserved stick on here, maybe he isnt as talented as we would like or maybe he believes, but i will give the kid one thing. He tries damn hard. then out of the corner of my eye whilst watching bannan try but not quite succeed, i see that little pixie faced good for nothing fucker stephen ireland, sitting on the bench content with his lot, earning his 60-80k a week and we are having a go at bannan.

if there is any fucker who needs prising, slinging or generally casting away it is this little shit bag ireland! he should be ashamed of himself!

Got to agree. I like Bannan a lot, i think there's a really clever footballer there but he needs taking out the team but with us being so short on numbers at the moment, he's going to be involved. As Rutski touched on, at least he always looks interested and the fact that he get's picked ahead of Ireland says it all.

I know you don't have to be big to be a footballer, but it is a physical game and someone of his stature needs a lot of ability to make up for it.  He does have ability, but not enough to do that.  Hence getting his best position becomes difficult, as footballing wise it's central midfield, but that loses us a lot muscle wise against some of the physical players we'll come up against in the PL.

I've previously said I'm unsure about him playing further forward, due to him not seeming to carry enough of a goal threat, but if he's going to make it at this level then I think that's where he needs to play!

I think they both are. The problem is one's trying his best but needs taking out the team and the other looks as if he dose'nt want to be here.

Big Sam questioned about Diame said he can't guarantee he will still be at Upton Park on Feb 1st. SSN saying us and Arsenal interested.

Personally I'm unwilling to write Bannan off until he's had a run in the role nzogbia has played recently.  I think he could do a really good job there, he's busy and positive, 70 yards from goal that translates to a player who gets called a headless chicken who is 'hollywood' but around the edge of the box he could be much more effective.

I hate to put a dampner on things but if Sissokos wage demands were considered too much I can't see us stumping up for Diame

The trouble is that N'Zogbia is much better suited to that, and is more of a goal threat.  I can't see Bannan going past players to be honest, and he's too small to go toe to toe with defenders.

Was it his wage demands or the fact the barcodes offered him a 35year contract?

Please sign Diame Villa, again an ideal player. Although not sure why he'd sign for us.

If(and that's a big IF) we met his wage demands and a relegation release clause he'd sign! He's a modern day footballer they go anywhere that will pay them.

Different players though, both can have a place for us.

Besides I'd rather we play Benteke on his own with a 3 behind who can all switch places, Bannan, Weimann and Nzogbia would be the best 3 we can pick currently, in my opinion at least.

I completely disagree that you have to be basically brilliant to make up for a lack of size. It's about learning how to use what you've got. James Morrison is a much better player physically than Peter Crouch.

As for Bannan in attacking midfield, that seems totally obvious to me, and it's also obvious that Bannan shouldn't be in defensive midfield. It's like putting Weimann in goal.

Dont write QPR out of the equation, have it on good source they were interested early in transfer window, but not sure if they have sorted out centre mid now. Apparently willing to pay release fee and double his wages

Saw redknapp waxing lyrical about diame , also seems keen on crouch now as well- he will be like a cat on a hot tin roof on thursday.
