honestly,   this could only happen to us

I can only assume one of two things

Either Lerner is punishing us (the fans) for being what we are and the way we are or

He has reason or reasons unknown for wanting to impoverish himself temporarily or at least appear less wealthy on paper than he really is.

I cannot honestly think of any other sane reason for what is happening in front of our eyes.

He is forfeiting our Premiership status.
