Defender please, on loan or permanent I don't care.
Stoke fan at work said that he doesn't rate Shawcross. Personally I think he's good in the air, but can be quite rash in the tackle (no sniggering back there).
Your Stoke fan is in the minority then. He his great in the air but also his postional sense is great. Tackling and blocking shots he is brilliant at. His only weakness is his passing out from the back which is improving and would only be better playing for a top top side with better midfield than ours. (Stokes)
From what I hear and see about Shawcross and Stoke, that bloke who doesn't rate him would be like a Villa fan saying he didn't rate Laursenfive years ago. He's immense for Stoke
The E&S have said Lambert has a budget of £3m, so he has £1m left if accurate. Gotta be very creative now, maybe it'll be a loan or someone out and cash/player in.
I never believe that anyone other than Lambert, Faulkner & Lerner know what our transfer budget is. Just speculation
We should be looking to get a couple of experienced Stoke defenders/midfielders as part of the deal. Huth springs to mind for starters, and maybe take a chance on Palacios (if he's still there?).
That Walters bloke even maybe.
Huth wouldn't leave us for you. no offence for reasons I've already stated.
I've answered the Palacious one above, and you or for that matter Manchester City haven't enough cash to get Pulis to sell his favourite player.
No offence but however bad things are here i feel sorry for you having to watch such shit football week in week out every year - if stoke played in my garden i would draw the curtains - horrible stigma on football!
Ok I respect your opinion, I beg to differ as we sometimes do play some good stuff, but we have certainly regressed lately as we have tried to change systems to fit Adam in etc.
I came on to see your opinion onmBent nothing more but answered a question, please look at my first explaination for why a player wouldn't leave us for you at the min. Certainly no dig, infact look at all my 200+ posts on here and you won't find a disrespectful one.

If true then that would be shocking in the extreme and we might as well give up now.
I cannot see that being true.
I'd rather we kept Bent and tried to get the best out of him. We know he can score goals. If he goes now, who are we going to get in to replace him?

Thing is though geezer, we are talking about an England striker here, one of the best goalscoring records in the prem league we paid approx £20m for and quite rightly at the time. Just because he's had a couple of injuries and been mismanaged at times here doesn't mean that he's not still valuable. I'd love to keep him but if we aren't going to use him properly we need to cash in and get the players we are desperate for. You don't have anyone in your squad that is a better prospect than Bent, so if Stoke want him badly enough we should be taking our pick. Depending of course if the players will come to us in the middle of a relegation fight.

I respect you sir, i dont have time for your teams brand of football, i accept that players of quality would not leave stoke for villa .
Express and Star say our January Transfer budget is £3m.
I'm expecting one more signing, a cheapy £1-2m Sylla type.
Heady days indeed.
That is indeed worth a lol in its appallingness.

Of course. But it's a pretty precise figure quoted by a journalist who covers Villa every day, so ballpark it might not be too wide of the mark. And it would correspondent neatly between the 'barely any money' line Lambert has used, and the 'there is money' theory coming from elsewhere/Lerner's statement. There is money. But not a lot.
If that is the case then I'd cash Bent in for a few players from Sturk and pick another up on loan.
They've not got many I'd like mind. Adam, N'Zonzi and Shawcross being three I'd like, but I'd doubt they sell any of them.
Curtis Davies heading to Norwich. Think we should go for him - 2m is peanuts and should fit into the wage structure. Needs must and he is better than what we have
Wilson Palacios left in his Rolls Royce driven by his agent. #Stoke #bbctransfernews

I sincerely hope that isn't true but if it is we can kiss the Premier League goodbye.
