As a recently avid reader, I want to use my first post to congratulate some your optimism over the past few weeks, some of you are the ying to my pessimistic yang.
We are f**king doomed. -
What time does deadline close is it midnight or 5pm or what?

Were not signing anyone guys. Too little too late. I'm not even check deadline bollocks. Will just wait until Friday before checking online again. Villa are destroying my mood at the moment most the time. Especially match days. For once I'm not going to let them make me worry about transfers the next few days. It's a sad sad time. I have totally accepted championship football next year

Were (fans) going to be so disappointed if we don't sign anyone, we will also be relegated....

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that we are going down - almost calm about it. Don't get me wrong I'll still be p1ssed off when we lose on Saturday - but there is less time between recovery and feeling calm again...
To tell the truth I'm resigned to the fact were going down, Lerner is not going to put the funds in place we need to get us away from the relegation zone...
In my mind we need at least 3 players maybe 4 and that's going to cost at least 20 million, absolutely no way Lerner will plough that into Villa in the next couple of days.... -

If we can get a rag tag band of misfits, and other clubs rejects together, on loan / short term contracts, and stay up, then at least we get a slice of the TV money next year. I'm not looking for the most talented players on the planet, brought in on multi million pound deals. I just want committed, experienced pros. If one or two of them have got a nasty streak, then all the better. The one thing I enjoyed last night, was the in the second half when we started kicking everything that moved in a black and white shirt. More of the same please!

DCM - Wilson Palacios of Stoke - isnt getting a regular game - loan deal. Combative and puts his foot in. Better than what we have IMO.
DCM - Nigel Reo Coker - short term deal to end of the season. Is a leader may lack a bit in quality but is a fighter again better than what we have got.
CB - Curtis Davies - has experience would get him for less than 2m I would suggest and again is better than what we have. He can slot in alongside Vlaar.
CB - Matthew Upson - not getting a game at Stoke - again short term loan deal till the end of the season.
All good calls... although upson is very injury prone so it'll be another. Turn up, play one game, get injured back to square one.
Upson has the right credentials to sign for us..... "injury prone" -
