Staples lacks movement. He's a little stationery.
I've seen Etienne Capoue's name popping up..?
I'd be less than rivetted by the Staples transfer story
We've got little chance of Capoue.
I have it on good authority that Lambert has pencilled in Staples as a target during this window.
Capoue or Sissoko, either will do. I think Sissoko with his pace could really add something extra to the midfield; at the same time Capoue is a proper defensive mid. Can't see Toulouse getting rid of them both this window though unless they are both out of contract in June.
Day 17 of the transfer window or "Holiday" as Randy likes to call it.

Or ''Vacation''? He's due back on 01.02.2013.....
Villa please do something, I find it amazing that we appear to just be drifting towards the end of the window while our rivals are either signing players to try and address their issues or picking up form and points.
Aston Villa are boring the shit out of me lately. I dislike the club so fucking much at the moment.
I recall in the days of MON, how certain posters used to get their knickers in a major twist because of how late in the window we seemed to do business. My attitude then was that it didn't matter in the grand scheme of things, as long as we get the right man/men in.
Fast forward to this window and for once, I share in people's exasperation of not doing business as quick as possible. Every point could be crucial, as well as the chance of getting into the League Cup final. We already missed a chance against Southampton of picking up some valuable points. West Brom are on the ropes a little after a good start. If we had a new signing or two to freshen things up I think we could take them. It doesn't look like this is going to happen though. So who is to blame?
I'm sure others have noticed that Sunderland have been quick out of the blocks this window and made signings. This leads me to wonder whether it was Randy and his cohorts style of doing business that meant signings didn't happen until the last minute. People like to think they know the goings on behind the scenes, but on the face of it, it looks possible that both MON and Lambert may well have put forward players to be signed, but our board is too inept to get the business done promptly.
Only explanation for the delay I can think of, is we're on such a tight budget that we're having to haggle over the price and the target's clubs are waiting to see if they get a better offer. Its been shown already that if you have the money, you can get the players in

I think MON had a reputation for doing late deals at Celtic as well, didn't he? Plus Lambert's summer deals were more evenly spread out with the usual small flurry towards the end of the window.
The fact we haven't anyone in yet says to me there's not as much money as we all hoped would be available.

Will be good to have him back in the fold.
