New kit drains our mojo.

Retiring my Adidas shirt now - it’s too dangerous. It needs to be in a crate next to the Ark, driving rodents mental.

I reckon it's been Gerrard wearing an Emery mask for this tour.

Another useful workout. finding out who is more likely to play than not.  Watkins Emi and Konsa to come back in, which is a quarter of the side (if we can get away with playing 12).  Tonight, I thought we were light up top and still haven't hit our stride yet, which is to be expected.   I like the look at Maatsen and Onana.  Linking midfield to attack has been a problem in these three games but I am sure it will come.

Worrying times, Adidas jerseys are not for second best, they don't shrink to fit inferior players.

Unimpressive again.

Not sure anyone has done themselves any great favours here and Archer has probably sealed his fate. Jayden was surprisingly immobile, thought he’d be busting a gut to impress the manger but he didn’t seem to get about.

Even with the bar set low for pre-season we ain't gaining any new fans playing the turgid crap we've shown in the last three games. So much for building the brand in the US.

We go again.

Positives: It should now even without Konsa be obvious the defence needs sorting out. No point playing a high line if it constantly fails to work with the current personnel.

And if the plan is to play Barkley as the deepest of the midfielders, I’m not sure he’s got the legs to put pressure on the ball to make the offside trap work.

Got to say I wished I hadn’t watched now as as there are more questions than answers. One for your internal jukeboxes.

It's pre season with about a third of the team missing and a fair few new signings lads, honestly.

Think I need to not read this thread because you're all so over the top pessimistic. Chill the feck out like

Ned likes to get forward and makes plenty of runs, that’s a positive.
If we’re still playing like this a few games into the season I’ll be concerned but we’ve got a tough start.

Couple more matches before the start of the season. Need to now start looking at playing our 1st eleven so they can gel leading up to our first league game. In all honesty, I don’t think we’ve strengthened the squad so far to any degree plus, with CL matches also to come, these players need to step up quite a bit. Obviously, we can’t be too negative about friendly match results but, so far, seen nothing to get excited about.

I was getting a bit concerned after the first 2 games in the USA, about involuntarily attracting bad karma on the fortunes of the Villa, so I avoided the Villa TV+, this thread, X, my radio and other sources of info during the match. It (total media blackout on the match) has been known to work during the season 😃👍. TMB was impeccable, tonight.

So, I don’t know who switched into a stream or updated Social media with 10 minutes or so to go, but whoever it was, you’re the jinx!
