Of the younger players coming through along with Philogene and Bogarde I thought Kosta Nedeljkovic put in a good showing.  Only 18, tall and pacey.  He could become a favourite in time. For the League Cup I'd like to see these 3 start all games.  In fact our 'B' team would/should be competitive against lower league opposition.

Regarding the League Cup I think you meant 'game' not 'games'.

Same goes for the FA Cup, our fixtures should always be referred to as singular, I'm sure BE will back me up on this.

You see that's the difference between me and you.  I'm optimistic and look further ahead than the one game and see many future league cup games in the coming season. I'm not going to say you're a pessimist either but like BE you hail from Castle Bromwich which means you think differently.  That too is understandable as there must be some confusion as to whether you're from Birmingham, Solihull the 'Wood' bit, or even Water Orton.

I though Bogarde looked very quick last night, is pace a part of his game usually?

Yep. He is rapid.

I haven't watched any of the preseason, so can someone tell me where Emi has been playing? As we're stacked on the left, has he gone back to his Norwich days and coming in off the right?

Anyone going to help a brother out?

He’s played as a 10 mainly, from the bits I’ve seen.

I did watch the last game of the US tour but can’t recall, yesterday he was the player assigned to be closest to the forward. He, notably, played a couple of great balls through to Archer, one which he finished and one that was disallowed, which looked close. It was a decent cameo.

That's good to hear, I like little Emi.

Yes, we think differently thanks to the rarefied air we breath from the top the valley but there's no confusion, the Birmingham boundary is clearly marked over the road from the Clock Garage, Solihull is a mistake from the 1974 boundary changes and Water Orton is just an insignificant commuter overspill from the steam rail age.

Show us yer Jacobean halls with restored gardens and then we can talk.

Your first post confused me a bit as there's only one Emi. That moniker is taken. Little Emi is better though. I can live with that.

Very entertaining pre season game which, had we taken our chances, we would have won more easily.

I sat in the Poundland stand...great view, huge area (with plenty of tables, to have some food and drink, minimal queues for the toilets and plenty of leg room)

Purely from a spectating point of view, I'm embarrassed to conclude it was a lot better than my North Stand experience.
Anyone else agree?

You must have been in the same bit as me. We were in that big room with the bar and tables and the Olympics on the telly.

The first goal. Tielemans winning the ball, playing it off to Onana and then going forward for the interplay might or might not alleviate the Luiz worries for some people.

Would have liked to see the goal from Cam deemed offside.
