I am quite tempted by the Dortmund game. I love Germany.

Nothing could compare to the charms of Walsall, obviously, but if I think too much of that I'll probably get quite giddy.

I will likely do Chicago. Columbus as much as I want to go is a bit of pain to get to and not cheap from Toronto. Chicago is way more convenient. I could change my mind. NJ to watch Leipzig might be fun to and pretty easy to get to.

Hearing rumours that pre-season will again feature games in the US, including one in Ohio in late July against MLS opposition. Presumably our summer training camp will also be in the US, so maybe based in Washington again?
Wow thats great insight !
From February!

Worth noting Lollapalooza Chicago is on that weekend, and the Cardinals have a 4 game series at the Cubs. More to do, but hotels could be pricey.

My partner works in Chicago half the time so in a perfect scenario I come in with her earlier in the week. Her hotel rate should be decent. She can then watch the game also. The next bit is me trying to convince her to do it…

Tell her you have won a prize to be the leading mascot. Dressed in full Villa kit walking out holding hands wih team captain John McGinn. When she realises it was all a ruse it will be too late.

If we get to the final in Athens and cannot get a ticket, then hopefully i will go and see us in Dortmund - been to the last 3 away friendlies just before the start of the season, and have had a great time at each of them.

Big chance to watch the Cubs and see Wrigley Field an iconic stadium, great area for bars and entertainment also.

The Villa Pub The Globe not too far away from Wrigley- Irving.

Good idea to avoid Grant Park area unless you want to go to Lollapalooza https://www.lollapalooza.com/lineup  not for me.
