Processed sugar is the work of the devil, and is designed to get us addicted to the sugar rush you get from eating stuff that's full of it, so after 10 minutes, you want more of it. Back in the 60s, the sugar industry started paying for research that downplayed the risks of sugar, and pointed the finger at fat as the nutrient that's bad for you, when nothing could be further from the truth.

I think I remember reading that a lot of the key players in Brexit were linked to the sugar industry in some way, mainly through Tate & Lyle and Belize. I can't remember the details so this post is a waste of time, sorry!
