Can something be cleared up please?  Three new players can be registered for the champions league.  However with Duran leaving does that make it four including his replacement? If not who’s missing out?

Don’t think the key at this point is who is missing out it’s what date we have to submit the revised squad as we will see who is fit/injured then to do the squad…as for the rules on how many etc…god knows :-)

Only 3 players can be added to the squad. There are no replacements. I think it’ll be either Malen or Disasi that will miss out.

Yes, clearly. It's a great window now we've done what we needed to do, it would have been disastrous if we'd decided to not bother signing a central defender but thankfully Villa or the player seem to have got a U-turn out of Chelsea so all good.

It wasn't a bad window before. It's been a good window and so many people were losing their shit about how awful things were.

Nope, if we’d left ourselves with 3 senior centre-backs (2 of which are injured currently) that would have been a really bad error. Fortunately, the club obviously recognised that and managed to get a deal pushed through.

Oh, so if we hadn't got Disasi the management would have been shit, but because we did they are fortunate? That's the tone of your post.

Well that’s not the intent - I meant more that fortunately they had they good sense to realise we did need another centre-half.

Was clear to me what you meant.

Some people had already decided what a shit window it was before it had even closed. That was the problem. One or two on here (thankfully just one or two) have really embarrassed themselves over the last few days.

Anyway, we've brought in more than I expected us too, especially in attacking options. Pleasantly surprised really but yes, I'm glad we got a centre half in.

It's an 8/10 - I just wish we'd got a defender in earlier - dropping points to West Ham and Wolves might come back to haunt us. We're not out of it, but we need to win 9+ games to get into the Champions League. We have the players to do it now though.

Yes, because childishly calling people donkey is really mature (not you I know). That's the kind of thing I mean.

I hope (and pray) Sexual Ealing's lung donation is back on now we've signed a central defender.

I'd say it was a decent window.  Duran aside (and he's now dead to me), all of the players out weren't good enough.  Let's see how the players who've come in do, but on paper they are all upgrades.

Rashford for Duran
Malen for Philogene
Asensio for Buendia
Disasi for Carlos
Garcia for Ned

I think the only one there where you could argue we've not improved the quality of the squad is Duran for Rashford - but at his best, Rashford could definitely be an upgrade (it depends which version we get, but I'm hopeful).

I'd give this window a solid B+.  If Pau and Tyrone find themselves fully fit again in the next couple of weeks, it could look very good indeed.  Our attacking options have been given a definite upgrade.

Imagine bringing on Malen, Rashford and Asensio against a tiring defence?

I never come on this thread much until the last day, can't be arsed with rumour and conjecture, I'm too needy to cope with anything but certainty.

The window has been progressive and that's what I want us to be, mirroring the mantra of the Manager in seeking to improve all the time. Loans are low risk, the Rashford one strikes me as the most fraught with danger but only time will tell. I half expected Bailey to go with Asensio coming in but of the departures the only one I would've kept is Duran, but if he wants to go then that's it and we made a packet on him.

The team line up now has added intrigue for the remainder of the season, I have always had a suspicion that we will finish strongly and with the additions and the return of some injured players, it could happen.

We've signed players who've been there and done it, players with potential and players looking to improve themselves and their reputations.

They all know Emery is a great manager for doing that and he is the prime reason for them coming.

I hope in time that the club is seen in a similar light and we become the attraction as much as the manager.

So are you all happy now? I mean a few hours ago everything was shit, incompetents were running the show, negligence was the word of the day, and we had the worst people in charge.

We've signed 5 players who are all upgrades on what we had, and we've made a thumping great profit.

Yes i am happy as we got the cb we desperately  needed and on paper they all look like upgrades on what we had.

Rashford on his day same level as duran if not better

Asensio upgrade on buendia

Malen upgrade on philiogene

Havent seen enough to say if diasi is better than carlos

Same with garcia over ned

But we have to be generally happy with that window. We have spent big so the summer we will have a lot to spend strengthening  the squad.

Just glad we got a cb in as it would have been a disaster if we didnt.

Bloody hell Demitri that is almost positive mate!

Hahaha. Im calling it as i see it buddy

Thats a good window we cant complain. I think had we not got diasi my opinion would have changed as i think it would have been a hige gamble to go get a cb. On paper the loans make sense as you over spend in january. In the summer we can go out and better value for money

I would have preferred tel over rashford  but can't complain as if  Emery  gets best out of him we will have some player on our hands.  If he cant get it out of rash no one can
