Whats more childish or more on par is bringing up historic posts from days ago to try point score yet calling others childish (but luckily only one or two of those too)

I've got some bookmarked from years ago. Some people are going to feel pretty silly when I remind them what they said about the so called unsinkability of the Titanic.

Rashford for Duran
Malen for Philogene
Asensio for Buendia
Disasi for Carlos
Garcia for Ned

I think the only one there where you could argue we've not improved the quality of the squad is Duran for Rashford - but at his best, Rashford could definitely be an upgrade (it depends which version we get, but I'm hopeful).

I'd give this window a solid B+.  If Pau and Tyrone find themselves fully fit again in the next couple of weeks, it could look very good indeed.  Our attacking options have been given a definite upgrade.

Imagine bringing on Malen, Rashford and Asensio against a tiring defence?

yes yes but most of those are loans.

I never come on this thread much until the last day, can't be arsed with rumour and conjecture, I'm too needy to cope with anything but certainty.

The window has been progressive and that's what I want us to be, mirroring the mantra of the Manager in seeking to improve all the time. Loans are low risk, the Rashford one strikes me as the most fraught with danger but only time will tell. I half expected Bailey to go with Asensio coming in but of the departures the only one I would've kept is Duran, but if he wants to go then that's it and we made a packet on him.

The team line up now has added intrigue for the remainder of the season, I have always had a suspicion that we will finish strongly and with the additions and the return of some injured players, it could happen.

I'm not sure 'progressive' is the exactly right term regarding the squad going forward, as I don't know how many of the loan signings will be with us after this season and think we will need quite a significant rebuild in the summer.

I think what it does show is the club recognising the importance of finishing this season as strongly as possible and have bolstered the squad with that in mind.  Should be an interesting few months ahead.

Yeah well in my defence I didn't know they were going to sail it straight into a big fucking ice cube.

I think that if we really want any of them (and we only will if they're successful) then we'll probably be able to buy them. The Rashford deal is already in place. Chelsea don't want Disasi and unless we manage to piss him off he clearly is into us, and we need a RCB in the summer.

I think Asensio is the least likely (mainly because I seem to be the least bullish person on here on how good he's going to be for us so I don't think we'll actually want him permanently, Zaniolo-style), but if he's half-way decent then he's got a year left on an expensive contract with PSG and I'm pretty sure they'll be happy to send him our way permanently.

Decent window imo, but as Monchi says, proof will be in the results.....

Good morning Villains, a new day begins. We leave behind an intense and difficult transfer window. The results will determine whether the work has been good or not.
Thanks to the owners for their support, to Unai for his trust, to the workers for their dedication and above all to

Some people had already decided what a shit window it was before it had even closed. That was the problem. One or two on here (thankfully just one or two) have really embarrassed themselves over the last few days.

Anyway, we've brought in more than I expected us too, especially in attacking options. Pleasantly surprised really but yes, I'm glad we got a centre half in.

It was clear that we needed a central defender and when a club official said they’d be happy to go with what we had people were, rightly imo, worried that our season might crumble when we could be on the cusp of it being great.

A player in the right position has changed the feel of it and that’s taking nothing away from the signing in the attacking part of the pitch.

Martinez
Konsa Disasi Torres Digne
Kamara Tielemans
Asensio Rogers Rashford
Watkins

Olsen
Cash Bogarde Mings Maatsen
Onana Barkley
Bailey Mcginn Ramsey
Malen

I'm sure we'll have six players out injured at any given point but still, that looks pretty strong to me.

Have a feeling the summer  window is going to be even more exciting than this one. In my view the didnt want to spend big this window.

Just hope we are abit more sensible with our fees in the summer. We dont really want to be over inflated fees like 50m on onana

What I will say about the window is thanks to those (Tuscans / LondonVilla etc etc) who posted all the rumours up here through the window…it was a very pleasurable window not trolling through newsnow or twatter for any morsel of transfer speculation

Good work guys!

Yep, looks a much stronger squad if we are close to full fitness.

I feel sorry for poor Garcia…45 mins and he has been consigned to the third team :-)
