From Damian

The process it is not about signings. It is about the beautiful moment of AVFC.  This confidence in what we are doing. With Mistakes and imperfections. Up and downs.  We have NSWE, committed owners, @leonsfdo, experienced and sharp management team and staff, an amazing squad -honest players  and hard workers-  and a world class manager like Unai. All together. With you, the fans. The process is trust each other and help each other.  Create a culture, a mentality. Through the effort and togetherness. See you on Sunday!!! UTV!

It has been a very good January transfer window in retrospect. Not ideal to need to need so many players coming at this stage of the season.

Of course, we needed a CB, and we sailed close to the wind.
All of these players have tremendous potential, and the rest of the season will soon show if it all works out.

Delighted with the way this trading period has gone only slightly spoiled by the pact that a club under serious allegations can go out and spend 176 million net. This has got to stop.

After my rant yesterday, I apologise. The Window was good
Having loans means we can evaluate the players and keep tabs on other targets
I hope the Felix boat has sailed.

I wouldn’t have thought so. Emery’s not gonna stop loving him. We’ll try again in the summer I reckon.

What happened to the young Turkish and Norwegian players we were supposed to be close to, did they stay put or go elsewhere?

Pretty sure it was reported the Norwegian lad had talked to a load of top clubs and will decide in the summer.  haven’t heard anything about the Turkish CB for weeks.

Strange as it seemed a done deal.  On that note, if we loaned him straight back are we obligated to announce the signing?
Yes, according to local media here the Norwegian lad - Sverre Nypan, will decide with his father and team where to go within weeks or some more and then move there in the summer. AND then they also said it s between three clubs now; Arsenal , Aston Villa and Girona. They will go for the club that seems the best fit for Sverre in terms which project they belive must in , opportunities and support for Sverre and the like and not only the money. More or less.

What a great window by the look of it. We need a thread about the window to do reflections, opinions and the like.

Great idea! Why did nobody think of that? Sounds like the type of thing one of the footy algorithms would generate.

So are you all happy now? I mean a few hours ago everything was shit, incompetents were running the show, negligence was the word of the day, and we had the worst people in charge.

We've signed 5 players who are all upgrades on what we had, and we've made a thumping great profit.

Yes i am happy as we got the cb we desperately  needed and on paper they all look like upgrades on what we had.

Rashford on his day same level as duran if not better

Asensio upgrade on buendia

Malen upgrade on philiogene

Havent seen enough to say if diasi is better than carlos

Same with garcia over ned

But we have to be generally happy with that window. We have spent big so the summer we will have a lot to spend strengthening  the squad.

Just glad we got a cb in as it would have been a disaster if we didnt.

Yes, clearly. It's a great window now we've done what we needed to do, it would have been disastrous if we'd decided to not bother signing a central defender but thankfully Villa or the player seem to have got a U-turn out of Chelsea so all good.

It wasn't a bad window before. It's been a good window and so many people were losing their shit about how awful things were.

Nope, if we’d left ourselves with 3 senior centre-backs (2 of which are injured currently) that would have been a really bad error. Fortunately, the club obviously recognised that and managed to get a deal pushed through.

Oh, so if we hadn't got Disasi the management would have been shit, but because we did they are fortunate? That's the tone of your post.

I think he will too. We’re going to have two or three high end attacking players at least to upgrade on.

Shame there is no buy option for Asensio or Disasi, but good to have them in.  Hopefully, and no, I don’t really get the whole PSR thing, we can spend well in the summer. It was a hectic window with a 20 player turnover. Hoping now that those brought in can get up to speed quickly and push us on.

Was so weird being on here about 4/5pm and then within 2/3 hours being told by SSN that Villa had won the window…amazing the difference signing a player I can honestly say I had never noticed before made!

Can’t wait to see the new guys play…really hope we have invigorated the squad and we will get back to creating loads of chances & defending better.

Abu Dhabi City must have been tipped the wink that they will get at least one transfer window ban as part of their charges

What a very good transfer window. All 5 incoming players are an improvement on the players they replace and I’m not in the remotest bit concerned to see the back of Durán, who is imo hugely overrated.
