Martinez
Konsa Disasi Torres Digne
Kamara Tielemans
Asensio Rogers Rashford
Watkins

Olsen
Cash Bogarde Mings Maatsen
Onana Barkley
Bailey Mcginn Ramsey
Malen

I'm sure we'll have six players out injured at any given point but still, that looks pretty strong to me.

You've only put Konsa at right back to start an argument, have you not got any work to do today ?

Add Garcia on the bench, looks alright to me

Yep, looks a much stronger squad if we are close to full fitness, though I'd not have Konsa at Right Back. Garcia is 2nd choice behind Cash, Bogarde drops to the bench as cover in Midfield.

I also think we'll see a bit of a shift in formation now, and are more likely to have two more solid players in Central Midfield and let the front 4 go wild.

It does, though I'd have Cash as Right Back, and Garcia as second choice Right Back. Drop Bogarde to the bench

Damn, I forgot Garcia! Yes he'd replace Bogarde who becomes a utility player.

Garcia straight in for me, he looked pretty competent. Cash just isn’t good enough.

What I will say about the window is thanks to those (Tuscans / LondonVilla etc etc) who posted all the rumours up here through the window…it was a very pleasurable window not trolling through newsnow or twatter for any morsel of transfer speculation

Good work guys!
Agree there :)

I thought that he had looked pretty decent the last few games before his injury.

I'd say he needs time to adjust to the league after the 45 at wolves , did start well but then struggled .
On the other hand Cash has been playing well .

Could Emery get a tune out of Marcus Rashford?

You are truely a mystic.

A lot of criticism of Monchi after the Wolves defeat but in the end Villa have managed to, arguably, upgrade five positions and bank 50 million quid on top. Not bad. Will see how it all turns out but if these signings click then the next half of the season could be very interesting.

Yes, a lot easier to assess now all the dealing has been done.

Looking at the total absence of deals from some of our rivals it seems that they have been paralysed by PSR. Evidently a fair amount of creativity is required to navigate the current restrictions. Perhaps some of the criticism aimed at Monchi was unfair. Understandable before the window has slammed shut.

The proof of the pudding will be in the Villa winning.

Rashford for Duran
Malen for Philogene
Asensio for Buendia
Disasi for Carlos
Garcia for Ned
I'm not sure how you can conclude that Garcia for Ned is an upgrade: we didn't see enough of the latter and the former has insufficient top-flight experience to make such an assertion.
I hope they're both competing for the RB role next season.

Some of you will know that I volunteer in an orphanage for dying puppies. I was nursing one little fella at 10.59 last night, a Norwegian Shitting Hound (I'd never come across one before. Beautiful dogs, lovely yellow eyes, a delicate coat that seems to come away in your hands and a very hot nose). "I don't care what happens to me, just make sure this transfer window gets the best send-off you can manage. I've had a short life, but it's one transformed by the miracles of Mr Vidagny, peace be upon him. Tell the world my story. As long as the Disasi deal gets over the line. We can't leave ourselves short at the back." He seemed to say with his eyes.

This truly epochal transfer window is dedicated to that young dog (deceased).

I mean, you're right, we don't "know with certainty" that he's an upgrade - but the fact Unai was willing to start him in a premier league game when he hasn't been willing to do that with Ned suggests he's probably a little more prepared to contribute to our first team than Ned has been this season.  Where they'll both be in a couple of years, in terms of their natural level, who knows, but for now, I think he's an upgrade.
