Putting his marvellous record to one side, I like his reputation as a good, decent bloke. I think we need a bit of that again.
Sevilla, Villareal and now the hattrick! Welcome to the best Villa in the world Unai!

Irrespective of Emery's obvious qualities and previous successes, I think this is a very astute appointment timing wise. He's got 4 games to look at the squad before the World Cup break and make a general assessment of the squad quality/depth. Then he can work with those who aren't in Qatar during the World Cup break getting his ideas/formations/tactics across before starting properly against Liverpool.I guess he might have a few signings in mind by the time the January transfer window comes around? In any event, post Qatar I expect there to be some real topsy-turvy results as players at clubs come back injured/knackered/jaded/disappointed etc. Project Restart 2.0. Exciting times ahead.
"It's not his first language, and it doesn't matter how he pronounces it. Fuck off Lineker and leave our Unai alone!"As someone who is trying to learn a bit of Spanish I'd just like to mention that in Spanish the letter "V" is pronounced as a "B". (Hence this tedious reference to Unai erroneously saying "good ebening"). Gary Lineker, a man who has lived in both Spain and Japan, knows this only too well and will have encountered the difficulties faced by a non native speaker, especially with pronunciation. Really disappointed that he re-hashed this puerile nonsense.
