"We have consistently finished higher than Villa for years"

Google translate from yam yam into English
"We have finished above Villa 4 times in the last 47 years"

I like the way the poster wants to exclude "the Covid year". Obviously the pitch, ball and goals were all different shapes that year and shouldn't count.

I think he was as top a manager as we could have realistically got so fair play. I look forward to the 4-3-3 this weekend :D

Has anyone called for him to be sacked yet?

Sean Dyche?

As mentioned above, thoroughly recommend a look at Molineux Mix tonight, it's very funny. In full meltdown.

And also, some deluded twats on there. Check this one out.

Quote
Ok in all seriousness; our players are (usually) way better than those of Villareal or Villa. We have consistently finished higher than Villa for years apart from Covid season.

Why the **** are those clubs getting Emery, linked with Gallardo, and we are consigning ourselves to Steve ******* Davis for 3 months??!.
Has anyone told him that Fosun are not in great shape right now.

They won't have it, despite the evidence staring them in the face

They sack their manager and are still looking 3 weeks later. We sack ours and replace him in days.

Another photo opportunity manager for our CEO.
JFC.  What the hell did you want?
A reaction !

Emery is a top-class appointment and the one I picked in the 'who do you think' poll. He will work wonders at Villa.

Indeed and I know this is a joke, but Emery likes the double-pivot.

An exciting appointment and proof of the owner’s ambition IMO. Now let’s give him the time and have the patience to allow him to build us into a permanent top 8 club

Well said, my thoughts exactly.

Ah right, ok. An actual appointment to get excited about it, I just never expect it.

Found this online from Nov 2021:

Before taking up the role at the Mestalla Stadium last summer, Emery spoke to Sid Lowe at The Guardian and confirmed his interest in returning back to England, if a ‘good project’ became available:

"If there’s a good project in England, if someone wants me and is prepared to get behind me, I’m available…

"In England that identification with your team brings the game alive. It’s deeper there, like a church.

"I was born in San Sebastián and my team is Real Sociedad. That feeling is in my heart and that’s what you find in England.

"It’s marvellous, the loveliest thing there is.”

"Fans want their emotions to come to the surface and the only to way to make that happen is to give them a team that transmits emotion: intensity, attacking, scoring goals, competing, fighting. That awakens them. The fans want emotions.”

If Dendocker (or before him Hause) are any indication maybe after about 30 mins...

It's certainly a very positive appointment. Very strong record in Spain and has left Villareal in a strong position. I just hope he has learned from the Arsenal experience. The ability of teams (and players) to be able to physically compete is a lot more pronounced in the EPL. From recollection his Arsenal teams were often accused of lack a bit of bottle and physical grit.
