He needs to play on the left. He might prefer being on the right but we’ve seen most of his best stuff when attacking the right side of the defence. He gets the ball tied up in his feet way too much trying to cut inside.

Well i have kept off this particular thread because i thought it would be a Bailey onslaught

Looks more like Tree-son to me me
He doesn't like playing against a (wil)low block.
I'm sorry.

Thing is, we've seen when Buendia is on the left and McGinn on the right, Emery likes to see his wider men come inside.

Unfortunately he has a dodgy copy of Raheem Stirlings footballing brain that someone bought off a Petticoat Lane market stall.
I have seen enough to put him on the list of players that need to be moved on if we want to achieve our stated ambition.
It’s a pretty long list.

We literally seem like we have (at least) one for every letter in the alphabet
Augustinsson
Bailey
Chambers
Digne
.. ok you get the point

We bought a dud.
Ridiculously early to be writing him off, even by Villa misery arse standards.
As I followed up -  the situation is what it is and he is firing duds so shouldn't be in the starting XI. As we found out with Traore last season, the Premier league game requires all players to do a little of everything, and playing Bailey does not serve the team well right now.
We'd be better off playing Bidace wide left or right: at least we'd get some energy.
I stand by this: he needs to start making much more of a contribution or he'll be ghosted in the summer.
Oh, and I'm not a misery-arse!!

I really think Ramsey introduction into the side will help Bailey today v Leeds. They are key.
Good Luck Leon!

Other than the goal, which was really nicely taken, he's still a passenger, taking wrong choices, losing the ball too easily.  Problem is, now that Ollie has gone off, we have little pace to bother Leeds and Bailey is the only pacey (ish) player we have up top.

Yeah to an extent but that’s also a symptom of the lack of control he’s feeding off scraps so when he gets it he’s got everything to do. If we were controlling the game better he’d be much better.

Hopefully a big boost of confidence with the goal tonight and his shot made the other. Some lovely touches at times.

The class is there. If Unai can harness it correctly (i.e. cutting out the sloppiness closer to our box) then he'll be a major asset. We'd be in a much poorer position without the points he's got us so far this season.
