Doesn't seem to be pulling up many trees in Turkey based on his stats (not sure if trees grow in Turkey but).

Trees cover 23 million of Turkey's 78 million hectares. In comparison, the UK has 3.23 million hectares of woodland, so I'd say yes they do.

As you were.

There was an article on Twitter the other day about an old fella that had single handedly turned a barren stretch of land in Turkey into a forest

The UK is a lot smaller than Turkey, so unless you give us the total hectares of the UK, this stat is pish.

However you want to look at the stats, Turkey clearly has numerically far more trees than the UK, surely that's thekey point here?

Not really, it's pretty meaningless.  It's like saying America has more trees than the Isle of Man.

Probably one of the best meanderings off topic here, and it hasn't even turned into a pun-fest.

I bet it does though. Yew'll see.

But even so Turkey appears to have approx 29.5% tree coverage.  I would say more than sufficient for Bertie to find some and pull them up if he wanted to, don't you think?

24.361 million hectares. So Turkey has about 30% coverage, we're down around 13%.

Exactly. If he can't pull up any trees in a country with near 30% coverage what are the chances he'll do it in a country with 10%?
