Martinez has been played like a bitch by united

No sympathy  whatsoever for him

An opportunity to make your kids rich for life so they don’t have to worry about living in a council house or scraping by on a couple of grand a month like many people have to. Don’t be so fucking shortsighted. Football is a short career and is paid well because of this. I think people need to remember the five years or so of absolute quality we’ve had from Martinez and whether he goes or stays even to that barrel of fuck fest up north we need to be grateful for the time that he was at Villa.

Like his kids aren't rich for life already.

You know exactly what I mean.

I don’t.

He’s not going to make a life changing amount of money beyond that which he has already made.

He’s already extremely rich and famous. In fact, I think the argument that he’s going for money is spurious and - let’s be honest - a convenient one for us.

The fact is, he’s going so he can play at a world famous club and win something.

And i did genuinely mean that because, shambles though they are, I bet they still win their next trophy before we do.

They will and do , because there are trophies and there are trophies as far as they are concerned  .  They have contempt for the Europa League and League cup and that is why i fucking hate them more than any other club the entitled pricks

My instinct is that he's a disloyal piece of poo, but just playing devil's advocate for a moment, is it not possible that the club has been telling him for months that he might have to be moved on because it suits Aston Villa, and it's not entirely unreasonable that he might have his arse in his hand about it?

If it was Olsen he would have dropped his arse.

This is my take. You might have no desire to move, but if the club are saying, we may need to move you on and it seems Man U are interested, surely it is only human nature to begin to adjust your mindset so it feels like a positive?

I do wonder after what Mings said the other week, we've gone too early, hence the attitude at Man Utd also the rumour that Ramsey wasn't happy to be cast away. It seems like something is wrong so maybe we've played this wrong and pissed a few egos off in the process.

This could well be the case and the club had to make a decision as to whether to wait or start the shopping activity.

Imagine if we had waited until the last day and couldn’t sign anyone though due to Man Utd being wankpuffins.

As others have said, there are other players on the brink of moves that were able to show up and play for their clubs this week. That irks me more than the idea Emi wanted away or was working on it from last January.

I'm not stupid enough to think we should sack him off without a replacement at this late hour, but I'd be spending the remaining hours trying to sign a replacement rather than just accepting that he can stay now.

To be fair we don't know whether that's the player's attitude to a prospective move, or the manager's.

Fair point, and I've since seen the post implying that 4 players were told in January that they may be sold in the summer whether they liked it or not. Hardly surprising that you'd try to take matters into your own hands there.

The character that is Emily Martinez won't give a shite what anybody inside or outside of Villa Park, thinks about his actions.

Which will help him should he stay. I guess the question is, was he keen to go to Man U specifically, was he just fed up and keen to leave or did we want his wages gone.

United played Emi and Monchi like a fiddle and brought unrest on the club in doing so.

The same United that is a byword now for haplessness and incompetence? I think it's more likely that they didn't know what the hell they were doing, and Martinez tried to get something going.

To save face, Martinez needs to sack his agents first and foremost. The new ones he brought in specifically to get him away. "You guys had one job..."

What's it called? I'll give it four stars, it's the only olive branch the Martínezes will get from me.
