And I can say it from experience that it simply isn't true as I was once feeling a bit iffy prior to a Sutton Sunday League crunch game, a night of revelry beforehand saw to that. Any road I thought I couldn't let my mates down so I'd play, but just prior to kick off I'd had a final fag which caused a coughing fit and led me to foul myself by following through. I had to pull out a few moments before KO.

So there you have it, proof. I don't think I even knew what the tactics were or if we had any, let alone disagreed with them
If it puts your mind at rest I was alright for the week after, just got the shorts washed and laid off the beer post the afternoon session.
Ok so people can be suddenly unwell and sorry that happened to you. I want to take at face value the Martinez situation but I am intrigued as of something else was the case.

Regarding disagreements with coaches and management Emi's captain and it could be the selection of players, as didn't start likes of Pau and Bailey, may have questioned it.
I believe many people found Emery's selection surprising, therefore I'm curious how established World Cup winner Martinez felt and thought.

Thank you, thats appreciated.

Do you know what brand Emi smokes? If he's on Park Drive or something like that maybe he should switch to Silk Cut or smoother alternatives like that, even if its just for the last one before kick off. I mean come on, this is Champions League football we are talking about here.

Can’t he switch to a high-powered vape? He could probably get away with sneaking a couple of cheeky drags in the tunnel. You can get Diarite flavour juice I think, so that should help.

Yes, he pulled out after the lineups were announced due to illness.
I wonder if there was anything else to it, like a dispute on tactics or speaking up as captain with a disagreement on the line up and players selected , as pulling out so late with sickness but he would have known if he was well enough to participate and didn't simply suddenly have a bout of sickness come on. This could raise questions and speculation.
If there was a disagreement on how to manage the game regards time management
There could be all sorts of reasons why he didn't play and what went on.
Best we move to the next game and see what happens.
Of course the illness as well could be serious so can't be too dismissive in that respect either.

What do you reckon? JFK's assassination, the work of a deranged lone gunman named Lee Harvey Oswald, or was there more to it?

Marcello, boss of New Orleans, and Santo Traficante, (Florida). Santo said on his death-bed ‘we killed the wrong brother’.

I always find it suspect when there's some types of  information and occurrences , but let's wait to see how things stand with team news for Bournemouth before making any more assumptions because what happened has created some doubts and uncertainties.

Due to privacy and in house club rules, we might never get any more information or receive complete accurate answers from the club, but if people are interested, then discuss it.
Perhaps when we hear from Emery that will be some clarification regards any illnesses around the squad.

A normal thought process is a concern about the illness being used to cover a possible injury so as to not set the whole club into panic at the thought of Olsen until the end of the season. Your theory is just madness

The official news yesterday was this:
"Emi Martínez and Ollie Watkins could be (available) tomorrow, we will prepare for the match in the final 24 hours and tomorrow we will know if they’re available and ready to play.
Emi and Ollie are included in the squad for tomorrow"

If Martinez was ill, he would not be on the squad, thus he must be 'better'!
Emery seemed to have indicated something here, which is telling to me that Emi will be able to play.
I expect Martinez to play today and will never know what really happened midweek as nothing was said in the news conference.

The main thing is Martinez will be back in goal. If he was ill he would not be available for selection.

Let’s hope he doesn’t storm off home when Enery tells him the tactics/team.

Any continued issue of the unknown situation like that seems resolved and less likely now as I'm reading it in between the lines: Martinez is back and 'in the squad'

Unai literally said "in the squad," and that can be taken as being selected, so I summise that he'll start and he's ready, happy, willing, and well enough to play.

If Emery puts him on the bench then there's a point being made I hope that doesn't happen.
If he doesn't start on Thursday I see that more down to rotation.

Spot on, but I'd be shocked if Emi doesn't start on Thursday.

Lovely stuff. Had seen the footage of Duran playing the ball to him but didn't know the backstory.

Stuff like that helps ground you. Here we are spitting dummies out about finishing 4th or 5th, when there are kids all over the world suffering with debilitating illnesses like that poor chap. Looks like he had a cracking day, and if I was one of those Villa players that met him, I'd have had an extra yard of pace that day, especially for him.

UTV.

So heartwarming, what a brave little boy.

Special mention for Ollie, really making a fuss of Ibrahim.
