I always find it suspect when there's some types of  information and occurrences , but let's wait to see how things stand with team news for Bournemouth before making any more assumptions because what happened has created some doubts and uncertainties.

Due to privacy and in house club rules, we might never get any more information or receive complete accurate answers from the club, but if people are interested, then discuss it.
Perhaps when we hear from Emery that will be some clarification regards any illnesses around the squad.

If it puts your mind at rest I was alright for the week after, just got the shorts washed and laid off the beer post the afternoon session.

And I can say it from experience that it simply isn't true as I was once feeling a bit iffy prior to a Sutton Sunday League crunch game, a night of revelry beforehand saw to that. Any road I thought I couldn't let my mates down so I'd play, but just prior to kick off I'd had a final fag which caused a coughing fit and led me to foul myself by following through. I had to pull out a few moments before KO.

So there you have it, proof. I don't think I even knew what the tactics were or if we had any, let alone disagreed with them

Ok so people can be suddenly unwell and sorry that happened to you. I want to take at face value the Martinez situation but I am intrigued as of something else was the case.

Regarding disagreements with coaches and management Emi's captain and it could be the selection of players, as didn't start likes of Pau and Bailey, may have questioned it.
I believe many people found Emery's selection surprising, therefore I'm curious how established World Cup winner Martinez felt and thought.

Have you never had the trots footy? It isn't pleasant and can come on suddenly. There is no way you'd be able to play with it and it would take a few days to get back to normal. It is quite possible others int he squad have been sick at various points and had to be protected/rested.

This feels like having to explain the concept of 'the shits' to HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Thank you, thats appreciated.

Do you know what brand Emi smokes? If he's on Park Drive or something like that maybe he should switch to Silk Cut or smoother alternatives like that, even if its just for the last one before kick off. I mean come on, this is Champions League football we are talking about here.

I reckon that Ramsey is taking the piss as well. Dodgy screw in his foot my arse, he clearly doesn't like being told where to stand at corners by MacPhee. Or something. Wibble.

Yes, he pulled out after the lineups were announced due to illness.
I wonder if there was anything else to it, like a dispute on tactics or speaking up as captain with a disagreement on the line up and players selected , as pulling out so late with sickness but he would have known if he was well enough to participate and didn't simply suddenly have a bout of sickness come on. This could raise questions and speculation.
If there was a disagreement on how to manage the game regards time management
There could be all sorts of reasons why he didn't play and what went on.
Best we move to the next game and see what happens.
Of course the illness as well could be serious so can't be too dismissive in that respect either.

What do you reckon? JFK's assassination, the work of a deranged lone gunman named Lee Harvey Oswald, or was there more to it?

As an aside, my friend was named Marina after Oswald's wife. Her Mum was sat in Galway in the mid-60s already having had 5 other kids and was stuck for a name. She was reading something about the assassination and thought "there's a nice name for a girl".

Open the cubicle doors, please Hal.

I'm sorry, Dave, but I can't do that.

Well... I'll just have to go in one of the pods!

You might find that difficult without any toilet paper, Dave.

Hey Footy, have you come across the philosophical concept of Occam’s razor? It might be something that piques your interest, and also offer some clues about why some of the less likely assumptions you post on here are met with some derision.

I don’t find it suitable in some situations I sometimes go as far as  the Greek Euripides idea : to question everything.
The notion is a good one though regards ottoman thanks for bringing again to attention.

I would suspect it is not  as straightforward as made out and we have to simply believe what we’re told and be controlled
