I genuinely think he is intimidating opposition players whether it is on crosses, coming off his line or general command of the area.

He is a huge physical presence but I honestly think he has created an aurora around him.

I said the same on Saturday. Can’t think of too many keepers who completely dominate opponents and who can impose themselves as much as Martinez. Peter Schmeichel And Oliver Khan maybe. Am I getting a bit carried away here?

Watching MOTD2 last night and they did a montage of the best saves by a keeper in the PL so far this season. They never managed to find even one from Emi. Tossers.

It was a superb performance against Southampton.

I worry a clever manager will find a way to exploit his high starting position, but I'm sure our coaches are aware of that.  As a plan against Southampton it was brilliant.

No, maybe add in Neuer as well.

What about Chilavert, the Paraguayan keeper? Not much cop but he was built like two bouncers.

Chilavert was a great keeper as well as a great free kicker taker. Won South American player of the year once and also finished in the top 3 on a further 3 occasions.

Just a couple off the top of my head. The one against Leeds and the one on Saturday. If he makes those saves for Man U,Liverpool or Arsenal they would be building the show around him. They are a bunch of starstruck top 6 fanboys. Ditto Sky sports and Talksport.

I was in the directly behind the goal in the North Stand for the Leeds game and it was a brilliant save.  The footage I have seen of it since doesn't really do it justice as he made up so much ground in an instant.

Named 20th in the World's Top 100 Male Players in the Guradian:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2023/jan/24/the-100-best-male-footballers-in-the-world-2022

I do fear we will lose him in the summer with a silly bid.

Bayern are an obvious one. ManU if they don't retain DeGea.
