Allison drops way too many clangers to be best in the league.

If he played for us and not them nobody would be bigging him up like that.

I’d say Pope is also a better keeper than him.

Pope is a better keeper but is weakest of those mentioned with the ball at his feet, no surprise given the fact he's spent most his career in the 1950's at Burnley.

Is there any keeper in the world who you would swap for our Emi?  Genuinely, I can't think of one.

Am I the only one who thinks Martinez is getting far too cocky - not just off the pitch.

Is there a better keeper in the world right now?

Is there fuck.

And the funny thing is, his only 'weaknesses' are a result of him being too good.

He often struggles with deflections because he gets down so quickly: he'll be well on the way to making a save that no other keeper in the world could, and then gets caught out, whereas a keeper with inferior vision, reflexes and agility (so, all of them) mighy be in a better position to respond to the change of trajectory by virtue of being nowhere near good enough to deal with the pre-deflection effort.

If that makes sense?

If a keeper ‘Struggles with a deflection’ I don’t see that as a weakness, just rotten luck.

I know exactly where you’re coming from, but I think you’re being a touch harsh on something that is totally out of his control

Oh the word 'weaknesses' was firmly in inverted commas.

We need him to be like that.  That's how world-class players are.  They make everyone else look better around them - and that's exactly what he does.  Yesterday if Olsen was in goal, we would be talking about how a Mings mistake cost us a goal - but Emi read the situation and we got 3 points.

Its like Joe - he took everyone else's game up a notch just by being so bloody good.  Emi does the same - we should treasure him - as there is a very good chance well all tell our kids about how he the best keeper Villa ever had.

Agreed, if anything it’s enhancing his performances so I’m all for it.

I genuinely think he is intimidating opposition players whether it is on crosses, coming off his line or general command of the area.

He is a huge physical presence but I honestly think he has created an aurora around him.

He did not even shithouse yesterday
