Yeah he did have that one weakness although i seem to remember it getting noticed more when he joined Man Utd. Put it this way, Martinez's season last year was the best GK season i've ever seen at the Villa but i'm always a little reluctant to put him at the top of the tree after just one year, especially as a GK who we know can go off the boil. I really can't see it happening with him though i must admit.

As for the worst, i think it's probably got to be poor old Enkels but i think the Croatian bloke we currently have on the books must be close especially considering he wasn't particularly cheap either. Edit: And especially as i can't even remember his name. :-)

Rimmer was a God for me after years of watching Jim Cumbes.

David James’s ability to both keep us in a match, then chuck us out of the match will always mean he won’t be rated as one of our best keepers.

Premier league era Brad Friedel has to be up there

I didn't mind Friedel - he made the standard saves look good - but so much went past him without him even diving.

Bosnich and Emi are the best we've had since 92.

Absolutely love Emi. Excellent goalkeeper, commanding his area creating confidence in the players in front of him, and is full of personality. He’s the kind of keeper we’ve been missing for far too long.

On a side note, another reason to despise Sky and their rewriting of football history…on their analysis of the penalty award and miss, Bosnich is interviewed with the caption “Manchester United 1989-1991 and 1999-2001”. These are Bosnich’ career and appearance stats for Man Utd and Villa:

Why is it that his 26 appearances for Man Utd over a 4 year period are recognised more than his 179 appearances for Villa in 7 years?!
