Great interview, seems like the Villa has made an impression on him and he comes across as a very decent guy.

Now he just needs to tap up Messi whilst on international duty whilst Dougie's having a word with Neymar.

Really good interview, really grounded and seems like he’s actually lived a life. He’s had a great start so far, love having him as our no 1

Yeh Neymar isn’t displacing Jack, the fucking show pony. Place on the bench maybe.

Neymar wouldn't get in the team.  ;D

Martínez: “I told my wife just the other day, I feel like I’m so in love with football again, like I’ve never known before.”

Thanks for sharing. Reassuring how early we were after him, likely our most significant new signing for a long long time.
It does seem like his time has come and his taking his opportunity with us really feels like it’s a statement of where we are going, again we seem ahead of the curve in terms of where we might have hoped to be.
So good to have a sense of building up towards fulfilling our potential.

When you look at home dreadful some of the goalkeeping has been this season; Kepa, Adrian, Pickford, Pope, De Gea etc. it’s great to know we went out and got one of the best available for what in relative terms is a very decent price. Overall Martinez has looked very assured. He had that one shaky moment for the disallowed goal at Fulham. But outside of that he’s clearly added confidence to what is quickly becoming a reliable PL defence.

And I can’t believe I wrote that after what we saw at times last year. It’s really great to see.

I noticed Damián didn't play for Argentina in their 1-0 win over Ecuador last night in the World Cup qualifiers; on the bench.

That's probably best if it stays that way, as they play at high altitude in Bolivia on Tuesday.

Good point, with him being 6' 5" the extra altitude could be an issue.

He'd come back looking like Dickie Davis.

He seems to be third choice and they only have qualifiers, no friendlies, for the foreseeable future so might be a little while before his first cap.
