He's been a good signing and everything but he's been largely shite now since the Euro's and it was Mad Jhon that saved our arses in the first half of last season.

Never mind the goals, his first touch is like a Pong paddle and he's as threatening with the ball at his feet as blancmange. Yes, the team is struggling and its not all his fault but he's doing very little to lift the malaise.

It feels to me like he makes fewer sprints and generally appears less mobile nowadays, however I’ve no idea whether that observation is supported by actual data.  Any boffins have access to such information?

I actually think that the evidence on Saturday was that he was running and chasing down like he used to.
