Totally anonymous.
No service

He's also provided no service.

Not entirely true. Set up a couple of shooting chances for others in the area.

Gets a pass today, absolutely no service as we huffed and puffed.

Mad how when you criticise his lack of goals, it's "but he has a million assists" and when he doesn't contribute either a goal or an assist its "he had no service".

I've never known a player to have so many excuses made for them.

If he's a top player as people seem to think he is, he needs to be criticised at that level. And a game like today is where he should be making the difference.

Saying someone has loads of assists isn't an "excuse". What a bizarre argument.

While that's certainly true, his workrate and movement are nowhere near good enough. With Ollie that was usually a given, now I'm worried his legs are going.

It's used as a defence to argue he does more than score.

Then when he does neither (which is often), its because he has no service. If he's the creator as well as the scorer then he shouldn't need service.

Main reason we lost is that Ollie wasn't winning the ball back in our half, and then passing to himself in midfield before threading a pass to himself to run onto and score/assist.

He's not a creator, never has been. You don't think he's Zola do you? His assists have come from a simple pass, a deflected cross or nod back not a grass cutting through ball or 70 yard ping on a six pence. Irrelevant of his assist numbers it's not his game. Today like last week he had fuck all to run on to, a cross deemed worthy of getting his head on or a half chance. That's on the team around him, not himself

When you get assists as well as goals, it literally is "doing more than scoring". If you have arbitrarily decided not to count them because they make your argument look silly, it renders anything else you have to say on the subject meaningless.

And today he got neither. No assists no goals. No service received no service provided.

Always an excuse for Ollie.

Shall we compare their goal records then?

I don't know who you're arguing with. I never made an excuse for today. I said assists count. Because, you know, they do.

They get brought up when his bang average goal record is brought up as a way to deflect from the fact he doesn't score enough.

Then when he doesn't contribute either, suddenly its the fault of others for not giving him any service.

He's beyond criticism.

You missed out that he wasn’t also ponderously strolling out of defence with the ball, before hitting a 40 yard pass to no one in particular
