He's got 12 months left.I think he's good value for them at £3-4m, a bit like when we got Hause after promotion. We didn't see him as a starter, but at £3m for someone who had already settled and we knew we could rely on in a pinch, it was a no-brainer.I think he was £9m for us, five year deal, so at that price we don't make a loss on FFP and get his wages off the books.

Doubt we'll get our money back but anything in the £7-10m range would be very good business.I think he cost us closer to £11m so we should be looking for more than £3-4m. This journalist seems to think they'll get him for free, not sure what he's been smoking. Why would we let him go for nothing, would make no sense at all. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/journalist-issues-verdict-on-luton-towns-chances-of-re-signing-aston-villa-player/

He may have cost £11m but in amortisation terms, he'll be down to c£2.2m on the books. Anything north of that is positive for FFP
I suspect it will be around £3m with add-on's if they survive.

Smethwick now interested in signing Marvelous. Hopefully the competition for his signature will drive up the price.
So Albion's midfield will be Okay and Marvellous?
