If he maintains the level of progress he showing he will turn into a very cultured central defender.  He's not far off as it is.

He's not just doing his job well now, he's doing his job AND getting Mings out of trouble on occasions.

He’s a very classy player, one would expect a new contract is a must soon.

He's developed a signature move this season to rival the McGrath heel and the Ugo stepover to user the ball out of play. There's the Ezri near post sliding interception now too. The extent of his improvement is staggering, ditto Targett. You have to give so much credit to both the players and the coaching staff. He'll be in the next England squad I reckon, it's not like Southgate is spoiled for choice at centre half and Konsa has now been brilliant for pretty much a full season worth of games straddling this season and last.

Reminds me I met the bloke who started the Senrab club, I was watching a Villa game in a bar in Spain and he was with a fella I know as they grew up togther in East London. His name was Barnes and club name is his, backwards. Arsenal fan I think he said, had some great stories about the players who came through his club. But I cant remember any of them. On reflection not the best anecdote.

Haha great post though.

Yeah I got this one wrong

I didn’t think he was going to be good enough at first but he clearly is

I still don’t think either of the centre backs are particularly great on the ball but they don’t have to be they just need to be great at defending which Konsa is doing
The key difference between the two is that Konsa doesn’t dwell on the ball and think he’s better than he actually is whereas Mings sometimes strolls around thinking his Franco Barresi who he is not

both outstanding central defenders so far this season Mings just needs to cut the sloppiness out but we’ve been saying that for a while now still his actual defending is First Class

They must go through videos of all the goals conceded you'd have thought, so I don't get why Mings still tries to overplay things in every match. He did it again last night, but because Newcastle are shite we got away with it.

Last night he got away with it because of Konsa's utter brilliance, but I still love him dearly and think his general Baresi tribute act brings more than it takes away.

Yep.

Agree with all the praise above. Do we have a decent song for him?

I know but I'd hoped that had been consigned to the dustbin of history.

He's been watching videos of God.

He's obviously a great learner with years ahead of him.

Loves his partnership with Mings taking to him all the time too. I think his form is the thing making his partner look not so good whereas in reality Mings is doing just fine.

Another fabled pairing is developing I think...

Carragher was absolutely purring about him all game as well in the commentary so it will only be a matter of time that the media gets him a call up too.
