A captain should act as some kind of bridge between the players and the coaching staff/management. So when is McGinn going to step up to the plate. Mings was supportive of him when he got given the captaincy. When is he going to return the same level of support and not just regarding Mings, but also Traore, Guilbert, Nakamba, Sanson and maybe others. He's been very quiet as captain since last weekend's debacle or is it that he's quiet because he's just another "yes" man?I'm not a fan of McGinn at all, but it's been one match. And you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Anyway, he's there to gee up the troops on the pitch, not act as a union spokesman.Agreed, it's only been one game but it's refreshing to see someone accusing McGinn of not stepping up to a plate.Maybe it's already been emptied!Union spokesperson uuh?I may be doing McGinn a disservice. Maybe he's already had a chat with the boss, but he in his infinite misguided wisdom has decided not to listen.McGinn is probably a great lad to party with, but seriously captain material no matter how many games? ...No way!Not to listen to what?

We need a weekly podcast from him after every weekend match telling us exactly what he is doing to put things right and a few anecdotal examples of leadership. Call it Meatball Mondays or something, but we need him to step up to the plate.
I'm not convinced he's a player good enough to be in a top 10 side. Who's team would he get in to that finished top half last season?
Media loves him (Souness giving it large on TS this week) but I'm not convinced - spent most of Saturday either playing it sideways or on his arse looking at the referee, and i could not discern any leadership at all to right the wrongs that were pretty clear after 10-15 mins. it was a truly woeful and abject performance from our new captain!
