He's going nowhere. He plays every week. He's gonna revel playing under Gerrard. I'm not sure he's got the dazzling lights of Champions League in his eyes just yet. On current form, it'd take a huge offer. What I will say about McGinn, he's not unlike Delph. He could perhaps move up, but is he excelling here because he can play every week and he drives the team? He's got more to give here and should enjoy learning from Gerrard and McCallister, as well as being central to the team here, rather than a squad option. He doesn't strike me as a fancy Dan either. Joe likes the glitz and in fairness that probably attracted our Ash away back in the day too. He also needs a solid season of maintaining 7-8/10 every game. He had some dips in his first two seasons up (injuries here and there not helping of course).

He also needs to be upping his goal and assist tally to levels where someone will pay what it takes to prise him away. Which isn't yet. Assuming there's no clause, any off we can give the short shrift.

If they want him he will go. If we got £70m I'd consider that a fair deal.

Spurs sold a lot of good players on their rise to the 'top six'.

They didn't.

They sold Berbatov for £30m and Robbie Keane for £16m in the summer window of 2008 but then got Keane back in January. They finished 8th that season and 4th the next.

By the time they sold Bale, Modric and Walker, they were already established in the top six.

I seen one of those Scottish players who never made it down South (Kris Boyd?) on Sky Sports News yesterday saying McGinn would be just what Yanited need.

If I seen that, I'm sure some of the spotty Herberts who knock out online articles ripped from TV and podcasts did too. More fool their editors who decided to fill up space in the papers with it.

There was a story in the Birmingham Mail a couple of seasons back with a title along the lines of Manchester United being interested in McGinn.  When you actually read the article though, it was comments from a scout who knew Alex Ferguson and said that he thought he might rate him and recommend that they sign him.

I thought he was everywhere today and they couldn't cope with McGinn's power.  Cracking performance.

Remember when Chelsea wanted to sign Gerrard from Liverpool then someone had a word in his ear and he didn't go.

He is class.
But I think we might take £60m if someone come knocking.

No we will not. £60 mill is practically giving him away on this form.

Well. We will see in Jan or the summer.
I bloody hope we turn offers down.
It will be a test to what the owners have in their plans.
Jack was different. They had to let him go.

Berbatov and Keane were pretty good players! Also, Carrick?

I was at the game with two Leicester-supporting mates yesterday, and they both raved about him, saying he was the best player on the pitch by a mile. Which he was.

I will never, ever understand why Smith was so determined to stick SJM in the defensive two in front of the defence. One of the things that led to him not being our boss any more.

MOM again yesterday for me. He drives the team forward. Very Gerrard like in that respect.
