London Marathon completed Sunday. Amazing event. Was aiming for sub 3:20 and got 3:08:51 so was chuffed with that.

Excellent stuff sv, well done. Great time.

Looks like I’ve managed to bag a London Marathon spot running for Action Heart.

Chuffed.

‘Just’ got to raise a grand (and run the Marathon!) now !!

Nice on Richard, it's technically a down hill marathon as well as I believe it has about a -10 metre descent overall.

Found out a couple of weeks ago I've been selected for the Team GB age group team to race the ITU European Middle Distance Championships in Menen, Belgium in August. Completely unexpected and I'm made up to say the least.
It'll be on the telly box too.

Yeah. Congrats Jon, top achievement and good luck in Belgium. Keep us all updated on how your prep pans out its always good to here peoples stories on here, provides a lot of good motivation to get out there and keep at it.

Just for clarity is the middle distance the 1.5/40/10 or the next one up i.e. 70.3?

Top work, well done mate. Let us know when it's on so I can show my kids and say "I know him. Well I sort of know him, he's one of my 'internet friends'"

70.3 so 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run ie a half Ironman.

6 weeks into the 16 week training plan for the London Marathon and very pleased with how it is going so far. I actually feel like there’s noticeable improvement in my endurance. It’s miles better than the (with the benefit of hindsight inadequate) training plan I followed when I did the Birmingham Marathon in 2017.

Well, in 2017 you were young and foolish, now you're more mature  and disciplined. Good luck, hope it all goes well.
