What were all the tears at the end of the season about then. Without that reaction no-one would be having these conversations.

As Martinez is suspended for (at least?) the first game the other 2 keepers need game time.

I’m sure his new agent told him he was going to get him a move but the keeper market is tricky and as we stand it’s hard to see where he’ll move. Maybe we’ll get one more year out of him.

It’s entirely possible he is open to leaving and we’re open to letting him leave.

Don't think suspensions carry over across seasons do they ? Straight red would be 3 games

Impressive to go for two 50/50 points across fifteen words and be wrong with both of them.

He's suspended for one match, carried over from last season.

Is there any confirmation that the ban is one game? I can only find an article in Manchester Evening News saying that it's three.

The offence for which he was sent off results in a one-match suspension.

So why would he be suspended for three matches?

Straight red is 3 games unless the rules have changed or there's a concession between seasons . Impressive response though .

So why would he be suspended for three matches?

It would depend on whether it was classed as violent conduct, and I've no idea what the criteria are. So has it been confirmed anywhere that it's a one game ban or that this offence would not be eligible for any further penalty?

You're just wrong, here. Ramsey was our most recent red card before Martinez and served a one match ban. Additional bans are/can be awarded for dissent, serious foul play or violent conduct.

He took their striker out in a mad / red mist moment so it may be considered violent .

Ramsey's was a second yellow so isn't really applicable here.

Emi was sent off for denying "an obvious goal scoring opportunity by an offence punishable by a free kick or penalty kick", which results in a one match ban.

That would be upgraded to three matches had it been "serious foul play" or "violent conduct".

Which it wasn't.

He'd have been banned for six matches had he spat at him, which he didn't do either.

Surely you can deny an obvious goalscoring chance in a violent way? Anyway, in lieu of any link confirming it is just a one game ban, will just have to wait and see how it is classed, I suppose.

They added 2 matches because he blarted after the previous game.
