As Martinez is suspended for (at least?) the first game the other 2 keepers need game time.
Don't think suspensions carry over across seasons do they ? Straight red would be 3 games

Impressive to go for two 50/50 points across fifteen words and be wrong with both of them.

He's suspended for one match, carried over from last season.
Straight red is 3 games unless the rules have changed or there's a concession between seasons . Impressive response though .

You're just wrong, here. Ramsey was our most recent red card before Martinez and served a one match ban. Additional bans are/can be awarded for dissent, serious foul play or violent conduct.
Ramsey's wasn't a straight red I'm sure it's a 2nd yellow .

Is Cunha still banned, or has he served it all?

Surely you can deny an obvious goalscoring chance in a violent way? Anyway, in lieu of any link confirming it is just a one game ban, will just have to wait and see how it is classed, I suppose.

The Premier League believe him to be suspended until August 23rd, which is our second game of the season.

Still, maybe Coopers Injury knows better.

True. But not all straight reds are three match bans, as Dave says.

I doubt the latter piece of information. Can you point me in the direction of the link confirming that the Premier League have him down as banned for one game, please?

True I guess it depends on the definition of violent and the subjectiveness of those who assess the challenge by Martinez on the Opposition forward .

Didn't Duran get a 3 game ban after that farcical straight red at Newcastle?

Yes, he was sent off for violent conduct, which carries a three match ban.

Emi was sent off for:

Quote
The referee’s call of red card to Martinez for denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity (DOGSO) was checked and confirmed by VAR.

— Premier League Match Centre (@PLMatchCentre)

Which carries a one match ban.

Can't give you a link I'm afraid as pretty much all their data stuff is more and more pushing people to their fantasy game, which then has it in a pop up window which doesn't link.

But if you go down that rabbit hole it's this:

Ta. I did think one game was more likely, especially when VT was insistent that it would be three.

I do not intend to stay up until 1.30 to find out if VillaTV works this time.
