Aston Villa is delighted to announce the club will be returning to the United States of America in pre-season.

Unai Emery’s men will take on MLS outfit St. Louis City SC at Energizer Park on Wednesday, July 30 (7.30pm KO local time) before facing Nashville SC at Geodis Park on Saturday, August 2 (7pm KO local time).

The Stateside trip is expected to have an additional fixture added to the schedule which will take place prior to these two matches.

There is a European clash prior to heading to the USA when Villa travel to Germany to take on Hansa Rostock at Ostseestadion on Saturday, July 19 (4pm KO local time) as part of the 3. Liga side’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

There is also the annual pre-season opener at Walsall on Wednesday, July 16 (7.30pm KO), while further pre-season fixtures will be added to the schedule in due course.

All matches will be streamed live on VillaTV. Further details around streaming and ticketing will be announced at a later date.

You would think a game against Deano's Charlotte FC would be a great event but i think they slowly build up the level of opposition and at present i think they are top of the MLS so it would have to be a latter game?

Not top anymore. Lost a few and down to about 6th and close to Nashville. St Louis are towards the bottom of the other geographical league. I didn't realise how shit LA Galaxy are. 3 points out of 11 matches (all draws).

I don't really mind that, they're American, why shouldn't they use American English? What I don't like is that they used to all have interesting names like Riverhounds, Musketweevils or Road Dawgz and now they're all called "City", "United" or just, as in these cases, "FC" or "SC".
