Tough game that when you’re main priority is trying not to get injured. Dirty bastards. Some promising signs though.

When not kicking the shit out of us credit where it's due, their defence know how to play out from the back. We need coaching all over the pitch.

25 fouls recorded against us.. for a fooking friendly! Wankers.

The word seems to have spread that we are "a physical team", even though we were the most fouled team with the most yellow cards given against us last season in the PL.
We looked sharp in phases, but the passing out from the back problem persists.
Judging from from a few posts on here, but quite a lot on X, AVTV fucked up big time.

Yep. Couldn't get anything from avtv, except a page saying your video will be available soon, but no indication of how to activate. I know Paulie W had the same problem. Anyone else on here?

Mine worked fine. Logged into AVTV and then went to live matches. Strange it worked for some people and not for others.

Sounds like Bizot is decent enough, but if Martinez goes we'll need a new keeper of one sort or another.

Bizot’s distribution was impressive, he can certainly play football.

Some promising things last night particularly, Onana, Malen & Bizot. But also some dreadful defending or more specifically playing out from the back when under pressure. Gauci would be a disaster. We need to switch tactics when teams don't allow us to play out.

Frankfurt played like it was a grudge match.

AVTV worked fine for me.

Yes, Watkins' one-on-one "prowess" denied Bizot an assist, that was a great long ball.

As for the match I fell asleep shortly after we went 2-1 up so didn't see the rest. But as others have said, the passing out from the back was dreadful at times. Hopefully pre-season sloppiness.

With the high press the game was crying out for the sort of balls Martinez was pinging to Watkins in the Newcastle home game last season. Perhaps they were told to concentrate playing out from the back; on 3 or 4 occasions they managed to play through the press only to for the midfield runner to be fouled prior to releasing a forward (in a competitive game I'm sure EF would have had at least 1, probably 2, sent off for 2 yellows/persistent fouling.) Main takeaway for me is the forward threat diminished greatly when Watkins was off - definitely need some experienced CF cover (hopefully a loan late in the window.) Villa TV worked fine for me.
